Your comment just made me visit ABU website for starters and its crap. What makes ABU stand out? Kindly tell the house please?

Are you actually trying to compare ABU & FUTO?

Calm down. We all know "Ivy League" originally refers to a sports conference but in a mainstream context, Ivy League refers to the best universities in the USA, a context the OP basis this thread on.

Keyword here is Context and Mainstream.

MIT is one of the top 3s in the USA, it's not ivy leauge.

Your point? smiley

As long as Nigeria is concerned, It says these are the best in Nigeria.

They never boasted of being the best in the world.

they have a lot to do if they want to be in that category.

But on the other hand, Who ranks the best in the world?

In other words, let the best students of those "best in the world" come and study in any of these schools and let's see what CGPA they would come out with.
It's like saying let Ronaldo Messi and the likes come and play football in your field with poor facilities

If it's by website, then most of these universities on the list won't make it.
You come here asking me what makes ABU stand out?
Whatever makes UI, OAU and co stand out is what makes ABU stand out.
Have you been to ABU to scrutinise the learning environment?
Have you visited our libraries?
Have you been taught by any of our lecturers?
ABU has a good learning environment.
ABU lecturers are professionals.
ABU has good security
The road network is good.
Sports facilities are there to keep yourself fit.
Instructional materials used are okay.
Internet Service is readily available.
Anything you need as a student to develop yourself is there so why wouldn't you choose ABU?

An ABU graduate doesn't need much Introduction before he attended to grin
Guys from the east do apply to run programmes here and they've never regretted studying here.
One of my teacher's from IMSU is running his master's here and I recall when he used to lambast ABU but now he says ABU is the best grin
So about your question, if you don't believe ABU stands out because of it's geographical location, no qualms. But stats don't lie.

And who said MIT is not a top school?

Where in my statement did you infer that school outside the Ivy League are not the good too?

Seriously, I don't dig. Maybe it's because ABU guys don't make noise compared to others. I'm just perplexed.

Its not by website agreed. But a well built website says a lot about a school. Visit MIT or Eth Zurich for reference on this.
As for all you wrote to market your school I'm neither denying or accepting them until I get more reviews from those that attended the school.
And before you give me that line about famous people attending ABu its just natural for that to happen to a first generation university.
But take it from me no Nigerian university is worth wasting your time trying to use it as a bragging right.

I purposely left the famous people line out.
It's not about bragging, it's about education pertaining to Nigeria, our dear country.
The school is already marketable already so no need for my stress. Anything affiliated to ABU is already marketable.
Don't folks who studied in Nigerian universities still go outside the shores of Nigeria and still achieve excellence?
Researchers from Nigerian universities contribute to the academia of the world so they're worth bragging about.
Things are shitty but there are still breakthroughs.
If you sponsor me to go and study outside, it's pertinent I return to share my knowledge with folks here.

Alright then best wishes ABusite. I just wish any Nigerian university not just ABU should be able to compete globally.
