It's been a month plus now, the car started only to drive out of the compound and the car suddenly broke down, since then, it refused to start, when diagnosed with a computer, the response is always 'failed'. It's a Honda CRV, 2004 model. The signs include;

1. Battery light does not show up on the dashboard.

2. Gearbox light does not show up on the dashboard too.

3. The gear does not move upto park gear.

Other dashboard lights do show up.

It was suggested that it could be from the gearbox, a new gearbox was bought and put but still same 'failed' result.

Also, when accelerating from gear 1 to gear 2,the car jerks, it's been like this for more than 2 years before the car broke down last four weeks without the problem being known.

Get the car scanned with a reliable scanner then post results here and seek for the assistance of car gurus here before you do or buy anything

Electrical issues. Have the vehicle scanned first. You might be having an ipdm issue

I think there is a fuse for obd look if it is still good
