Boko Haram insurgents have taken control of Damasak, a town in Mobbar Local Government Area, some 186km away from Maiduguri, SaharaReporters can report.

The development comes one day after Tukur Buratai, Chief of Army Staff (COAS), visited the town to address the 134 battalion.

Military sources told SaharaReporters that after the COAS’s visit, the insurgents raided the base and successfully drove the soldiers away.

Is this how they are leading from the front? BH has become so daring that even the presence of the COAS means nothing to them. Dem no even wait make him go finish before them do d work wey dem dey pay dem for. Na so boko dey take rush dem for north o! Yet he deploys critical army troops to the peaceful East for their python dance whilst his home burns.

It's obvious that there is deliberate sabotage of this boko issue from/by/within the government to keep money flowing in the name of fighting terrorism and insecurity.

Let me wait and hear buhari's rehearsed campaign speech where he'll come out and claim that before 2015 BH was holding some LGAs and now they hold none...Thunder will just arrest n fry him there!
