Eight months after her FB post, CU fires Prof Egwari who was caught pants down live and right in his office with a married female staff who just returned from Maternity leave. Unknown to him the School's MGT had put him under surveillance, wired his office with a secret CCTV.
Both of them have since been fired.

Egwari rose to the position of a Professor in the BioSci Dept. in 2010/11 and he is said to have to his credit about two Patents for his research innovations: Pawpaw Tea (a.k.a Pawka) & Grounded Rice Meal.
He was also one of the several CU's faculty, ordained by Bishop Oyedepo to serve as associate pastors at his church, faith tabernacle.

His sack came some days ago, ahead of the current ongoing sexual allegations against the Registrar & school at the moment.

It's really sad that some of the people that Bishop Oyedepo has appointed to help him run his divine assignment and vision are apparently wolves in sheep's clothing.

It was also reported that it is on record that, a popular Fmr. Covenant Sex Scandal: Audio Of Expelled Male Student Admitting To Being Guilty


The Covenant University scandal just keeps getting messier. This time, an audio of the male Covenant University who took the institution to court and won has been released and it shows him admitting to being guilty of all the school accused him of.

Adooh Emmanuel claimed he was framed by Covenant University, CU, (read here) with the help of Omotayo Dada and Marilyn Effanga. He said the University claimed he had sex with one of the girls and as a result, they expelled him just before graduation, after he had spent 5 years in the institution. He went on to claim he was innocent and was a guy who kept all the rules of the institution and never had time for Covenant University girls.

He eventually took the University to court and emerged victorious. Afterwards, he took to Twitter to call out CU and the two ladies involved. He claimed Omotayo and Marilyn helped the school frame him up.

He later deleted his threat after Omotayo warned him to delete it because they are lies.

But Omotayo and Marilyn came out with their side of the story after Omotayo and her family began receiving threats (read here). Both Omotayo and Marilyn said Adooh had sex with Marilyn and later accused her of giving him an STI. But tests proved she was negative for any STI. The university later saw the messages on both women's mobile devices and invited them for questioning. They said Adooh begged them to cover up for him, which they tried to do, but they were threatened with expulsion and they eventually said the truth. This led to Adooh's expulsion.

They also revealed that they have an audio of Adooh admitting to this without knowing he was being recorded.

The audio has now been released. In it, Emmanuel is heard narrating to a friend that he indeed had sex with Marilyn and went to bed immediately afterwards. As a result, his ejaculate stuck to his skin and also to his boxers. When he woke at night to ease himself, his briefs had already stuck to his male member due to his discharge. This made him bleed when removing the underwear and he thought Marilyn had given him an STI.

He admitted to calling Marilyn to accuse her of infecting him in Dec 2017. He also said he called her friend Omotayo to complain. He said he later discovered it wasn't an STI but it was his underwear sticking to his skin due to the dried discharge.

He further revealed that this year Marilyn got into trouble with the school and they saw the messages on her phone and also on Omotayo's phone so the school's SDC invited him for questioning as regards sexual immorality. He said when they showed him the chats and his photo, he denied being the Adooh in the chats and kept denying it all through. The school then called Omotayo to testify against him.

Adooh is then heard in the audio calling Omotayo names, saying:

Oga, when you agree to a contract with terms that infringe on your human rights as you so put it, you have forgone that right. No court of law will help you. How come there are oaths of secrecy and non disclosure agreements when there is freedom of expression. To say what you want, how you want, and when you want. I'm no lawyer, but I'm not sure that is how the law works. No institution's internal rules supersede national law. You can sign a contract enslaving yourself to someone but that would be voided for the simple fact national law doesn't sanction such a relationship. Institutions like Covenant probably get away with their draconian rules due to:
1) the weakness of human rights protections in Nigeria: afterall this is a country where millions of families have "house boys" and "house girls" which by international law is pretty much child slavery/child trafficking.
2) Nigerians have no faith in the judicial system, so rarely do people challenge institutions who abuse their power; whether schools or churches or work places or wherever.

For a school to take it upon itself to investigate students' off-campus sexual activities is absolute lunacy. It's borderline creepy and voyeuristic. Covenant is a promising institution, but it can do without the fanatical policing of students. It turns it into a joke. Not even a secondary school should have the right to meddle in students' off-campus activities, nevermind a university educating grown-ass adults and treating them like children. This is the same school that I heard fired a Professor who had sex with a staff by planting CCTV cameras in his office to monitor his activities: something that is a criminal offense in civilized countries. Don't the cretins have anything better to do with their time, but monitor everyone's sexual activities?

Let's be objective here please.

No natural or human law can void the terms of a contract only if there is complicity in the manner the contract is obtained. For example if it is found that the language contained in it is misleading or deceptive or in the event it is proven the contract was entered into under duress. There has to be solid grounds for a signed and sealed contract to be disputed.
If you enter into agreement knowing the terms fully well and you break your contract. Appeal from today till you grow grey hair nothing will happen.

-Communicate the nature, extent and reason for monitoring with staff and be clear as to what levels of privacy an employee can expect
-Provide written policy statements about the monitoring.
-Explain how information obtained via CCTV and video surveillance will be used.
-Outline strict confidentiality guidelines for those involved in the monitoring.
-Give employees a forum to voice concerns and ask questions, in confidence.
-Create mutual trust and confidence by giving opportunities for employees to explain or challenge any footage used in disciplinary processes.

The incidents from what I read happened off campus. Except the incoherent students who wrote it were confused. The school weren't investigating the fact the students had sex on campus, but the very fact that the students had sex at all. This former student here says that sexual activity off campus is sanctioned: are you for real? It was not installed in his toilet . Pls lets be real. It's no secret CCTV are installed around offices so must i now get a formal info telling me where the cameras are.

And no one has a right in any civilized country to install CCTV's in someone's office without their knowing it. You must communicate to all employees that CCTV's are active. These are examples of Federal guidelines of using CCTV's in the US:


Note the emboldened parts. I'm not sure how much privacy protections you get in Nigeria, but like I said, secretly installing CCTV's in a lecturer's office would be a criminal offense in any civilized country.

And again, I'd dispute your claim about contracts. Any contract that is not lawful is automatically voided before national law whether the parties signed it or not. Like I said earlier, the problem with the overreach of institutions like Covenant is:
1) Human rights protections in Nigeria are weak. Hence a school like Covenant can exploit this to violate students' personal liberties. So yes, one could argue the problem is not so much Covenant' rules as Nigeria's law that permit them to voyeuristically police the sex lives of students even off campus. The lunatics used to conduct a virginity and HIV test on students until the National Assembly intervened.
2) Nigerians either don't know their rights or have too little faith in the judicial system to fight for those rights.
