Ambode’s performance got beyond their expectations, I don’t know why Black people reason like this... maybe that’s why we are called or being “BLACK”. Only few of us that wants and leads progress are always pulled back by crowd of people that doesn’t know what leadership means. That man called Tinubu isn’t God. Make him go ask Gen. Sani Abacha where him dey today |

Yeecar:The man is not a politician at all, and that's why I also like him as a person. I wish he would finish up as many of the projects as he started, no matter where the pendulum swings. |

Irepib:Whoever wins at the primaries, I guess that is who the APC wants. I'm just sad that people are spreading so many negative stories about Ambode as if he came and did absolutely nothing as Lagos Governor. He worked! |

For a lot of political office holder in Lagos to be against the reelection of this dude points to the fact that he might not be as good as what the media is portraying him to be. I used to feel he is the best gov we have in Nigeria, but what's all this allegations about his wife being power drunk and the rest about him? He should know that Lagos is a state that is not like other states in this country where sitting govs misbehave and still do whatever they like. I do hope me can make amends while he can anyway but still, is it a must that every gov must do 2 terms? |

Ironically, I like what is happening in Lagos state and to Ambode. I wish this can happen to all the 36 Governors, it will make them sit up in their first term in office. They will know their second term in office is not guaranteed unless they show working. |

Lagosians just shows dat there a sample part of d stupidity d entire Nigeria youth represent if they do nothing about d present of leadership in their domain...ambode did credibly well in wut ever parameters u call it ..even d traffic gridlock seen in major part of d state is caused by projects DAT are ongoing...yet some silly mayopic bigot who knows nothing about government or governance still complain DAT d traffic is terrible..Those who don't know easier to have funds meant for d so called project stached in private coffers ..enjoyed at will by family and friends... leaving infrastructure to d detriment of d very poor and average... Allegations ...leaders and elders in d state are not satisfied with him because if non settlement The road, bridges ,rural electrification, etc, in "quote"this few want to have a bridge, traffic lights etc in their insatiable bellies be wise. Note second term is not mandatory it has to come from d masses if need be not from a few ruling class who determine who is there. |

Mehn see hyping is it thesame Lagos I live in that is being catapulted 50years forward, praise singers can lie for Africa. Ambode has tried, certainly not the way it's being described in this reportage. The kind of people that live in Lagos state will not allow the city to grow the way it ought to.. When one thinks of places like Mushin ajegunle, ojodu, agege, Orile, oyinbo, border, oba wole, mile2.....I tire ![]() |

Legolast:It is not intellectually sound to compare Lagos with any other state in Nigeria. We have the population here, Lagos was the capital before, major corporate headquarters are here, the port is here, and many industries are here. If you want to compare Lagos with any other city, look at other major cities in Africa like Joburg, Cairo, Nairobi, Casablanca..Addis Ababa...e.t.c. Mind you, all the attractions of Lagos are not because the state government at different periods has done anything much.........It is just because of the status of the city since 1900. |

bankylan:Exactly what I tell them. Comparing apples and oranges. Lagos is what it is because of the Federal government. In time to come the indigenous peoples of the FCT, Abuja will enter a similar boast of how developed their towns and villages are. Why compare state resources, why not compare living standards as other well informed peoples of other progressive nations do. How wealthy is the average Lagosian compared to citizens of other federal states. That is a fairer comparison and a better barometer of the quality of political service. |

Dannyset:maybe your hand is tied, but mine is not, beginning from the state House of assembly, am voting anything but APC and now am already tell people around me why that's the most important vote in Lagos, that's where Tinubu's power is, I don't hate Tinubu infact I admire him, but he is human and humans we do err, I don't have problem with his issues with his protégé, but we must vote out the present set of house assembly members, lagosians didn't vote for Tinubu party out of blind loyalty or he is in their pocket, we chose the better of the two evils since 1999 and since then we have being having the best Governors back to back, Tinubu was the best among his peers in his time, Fashola set another pace in his time, Ambode right now is far better than all other Governors but lagos still deserve better, I don't want another Tinubu stooge at the seat, vote for his preferred candidates in lagos was lagosians voting against the establishment /center/PDP, the last election Agbaje lost narrowly, yes PDP is not even getting their acts right that why we need to vote in an opposition to the state House of assembly we can still have APC governor but we need to take it back. |

omoranmilowo:Yea, but that is risky bro! Atiku forgave OBJ and he is paying dearly for it now as Baba is seriously on his matter. At times when you give people second chance, you're only helping them to hurt you more. If you know Ambode in person, am sure you won't be saying this. But let's hope things work for him, and particularly we the masses because this is even more about them than us. |

BAZETU12:what I will gain is that we will have democracy in lagos and we will never have a president like Buhari again that emerged through the money and supporters of Tinubu. |

Dannyset:Fact is, Ambode is sabotaging the APC as a political party in Lagos with his incompetence and destructive policies. It's also a fact that his achievements are meager and far far behind his predecessor's first term. At the moment, Lagosians are fed up with Ambode simply because what they are witnessing at the moment is regression back to pre 1999 Lagos that they left behind under Tinubu and Fashola. The fact that Lagosians are not defending Ambode like they did to keep Fashola in office means his pretty much not worth defending and they won't miss his exit. The party right now is basically trying to fend of other political parties from taking advantage of Ambode's failure, even Lagosians are fed up with Ambode. it's even hard to stomach or rationalize relegating LAWMA, the most effective waste management agency in Nigeria, taking away tens of thousands of waste management jobs and food from Lagosians in favor of foreigners and foreign owned companies. He even guaranteed their existence with bond money from Lagosians. Politics aside, Tinubu and the APC are doing the right thing |

totally misleading publication, ambode has done nothing for surulere/lawanson/ijesha/itire/mushin/onipanu/costaine axis...under him lagos power project initiated by fashola has been swept aside hence total darkness at times for weeks in most part of lagos, lagos has become the most dirty city under ur so called ambode taxes have become higher,in fact if given the second chance he plans to tax the very air we breathe, all his achievement can be pointed only to epe, so save ur bullshit campaign, nigerians re more wiser to the guerilla style of politics politicians play now.. |
| Re: Governor Akinwunmi Ambode - The True Lagos Legacy by deomelo: 2:18pm On Sep 19, 2018 |
masseratti:Going against Tinubu at this point is also going against your own preferred political situation in Lagos state, according to Tinubu himself, folks like you have accused and blamed him for imposing candidates and governors, (We can't have it both ways) but now he's saying no more automatic tickets which is imposition and all candidates must go out there to test their popularity and canvas for votes. Yes, we have the so called mandate group and other forces influencing political decisions in Lagos state, but thew same mandate group are feelers in the community, they are the grass root folks, the mobilizers and representatives of their various communities, they see and hear the rumblings in their communities good or bad. The grumblings against Ambode came from the people via the LG folks and Lagosians in general and there's absolutely nothing Tinubu himself can do about it. This is far far beyond Tinubu's power, influence and reach. Lastly, this is an opportunity for people like you and other Lagosians to throw their hats in the race and compete with the other candidates and win or lose, we have to start fro somewhere and this is a good start, the field is wide open, no more automatic tickets, the new order is direct primaries. |
