Osun Election: Omisore Reacts As INEC Declares Election Inconclusive by 17Ebiscoo: 8:54pm On Sep 23, 2018
The Social Democratic Party (SDP) candidate in the Osun State governorship election, Senator Iyiola Omisore, has thanked all members of the party for their support.

With the exception of Omisore, who secured 128,049 votes, no other candidate came close to the top two – Ademola Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party and Gboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress.

Adeleke led the race with 254,698 votes, 353 votes more than Oyetola.

The margin was, however, less than the 3,498 votes in the polling units where voting was cancelled.

Consequently, the Returning Officer for the election, Professor Joseph Afuape, declared the poll inconclusive.

Omisore, in a statement issued on Sunday, insisted that although the party might appear to have lost the election, he believes it has won a ‘greater victory’.

“The past four months have been very exciting. I am delighted that our message of good governance and dignity has reached every corner of the state.

“Over the past four months, I have worked with committed people who have given time and resources to our shared agenda for restoration. I am confident that while we might appear to have lost an election, we have won the greater victory; the clarion calls by all our people for good governance and accountability.

“We have positively impacted on electoral campaigns and elections in Osun state promoting inclusion, people-centeredness and shied completely away from vote buying, voter intimidation and thuggery,” Omisore said.

this man is powerful to have garnered over 100000 votes. if PDP had used this man. he would have won hands down. Despite the accusations of APC labelling him a killer, he still got such high votes.

this goes to say the people of osun wants anybody but APC/aregbesola.

the same thing would happen in 2019 where even a stone would send the illiterate ethnic and religious demon buhari packing to daura.

So you think it's all a competition? undecided
I remember when you were flooding the Job section looking for a job. Imagine you being employed and your salary was halved at the end of the month, or rather Modulated

I know you'll be happy grin

Osun people are obviously tired of APC. Upon all the rigging, they still lost the battle to PDP! I hope Osun people will stand by their votes and reject every form of vote buying gimmick by APC.

To have pulled such votes, Omisore has proved his political worth in his state... But we must move ahead.. Saraki has done well, not only in uniting the party members in the state, also leading the party to a successful election ( even though it was inconclusive). He has also proven to be a good team leader... Now he has more work to do. He needs to complete this task successfully...

Ipob analysis.
If pdp had used Omisore, Omisore will not get block votes from EDE . And Oyetola would have been declared winner since yesterday

You mean with all the rigging PDP did abi?

Their agents were caught all over the place buying votes massively.

Osun People will stand by their votes and reject PDP as will be apparent since out of the 4 places the rerun would happen, only 1 is a PDP stronghold while the other 3 are APC strongholds.

PDP agents massively bought votes in Osogbo which was why APC lost votes there while PDP gained some. Other than this, Oshogbo would have sealed it for APC hands down

osun state is so diverse in religions n beliefs, juju ppl de, Muslims n xtians ,sango , osun worshipers, irreligious and everything. Reason why its so difficult to win elections easily in that state, cos all these diverse grps would always split votes
