In a statement last night in Abuja, the Clerk to the National Assembly (CNA), Mohammed Sani-Omolori, said the postponement was due to the activities of political parties.

“This is to inform all Distinguished Senators and Honourable Members that the resumption of plenary earlier scheduled for Tuesday, September 25 has been postponed to Tuesday 9th October due to the activities of the primaries of the political parties.

“All Distinguished Senators and Honourable Members are expected to resume plenary session by 10.am on the 9th of October, please,” the statement said.

Daily Trust had last week reported that the assembly would not reconvene this week as earlier slated.

Our correspondent reports that the budget for the 2019 general elections and other national issues that await the approval would be delayed due to the postponement.

cry I now pity APC, after buhari struggled for power for 12years and losing 3 national election, incurring a major debt along the line. he is still making the same leadership mistake he made during the military regime. just as he never listens to the supreme military council, and even attempted to sack and label Ibrahim bako corrupt. here we are now, still messing with the senate, and trying to oust saraki.
he got away with arrogantly disobeying shagari by cutting fuel and other supply to chad as GOC, he got away with taking war 50km into Chad territory against the President's order. he also got away with the nepotism of appointing a junior ranked idiagbon a Fulani Muslim man from Ilorin against the best wishes of the senior ranked coup plotter. here we are in 2018, baba is still using all this ideology, at the detriment of Nigerian democracy.
