Tinubu thinks at Lagos state as a whole belongs to him.. Forgetting that the masses are determinant factors.

Ambode is not performing shit. Who even wrote this?personally, I would love to see the powers of Tinubu cut down to size. I dislike that man but to say that Ambode has performed well is a joke. The writer should kindly tell us how Ambode has improved the lives of Lagosians? How?

Performing governor? The writer of the article should have listed the projects of Ambode instead of spewing trash.

Sadly, many don't notice this as they are carried away with the anti-buharism. PMB has shown he's not interested in tampering with state elections

Very good analysis however if OgunBiyi had chosen Adeleke as running mate, I swearogawd man , APC would have lost woefully , but then again, It's APC ,We won't give up without a fight

Osun election should be a lesson to PDP because any mistake in choosing their Presidential flag bearer will give APC and Buhari advantage just as it gave Osun APC a slim hope now. If PDP had chosen Ogunbiyi or even Lere in Osun the inconclusive saga would not have appeared

No basis for comparison.......

Ambode never owe any worker salary for a day.

Fayose lost because of that, and if Aregbe loses because of the same reason also, then so be it.
Stop comparing Ambode with such guys.

Nice try by you tho........
Obviously you didn't read through the article and if you did then you did not understand what he was saying. He never compared the 2, he was only giving an honest perception of how the voters in Lagos may react if ambode is not giving the ticket.

Take it or leave it, buhari is a man of integrity and impeccable character, that margin is too small for APC to claim victory, trust PDP on this manoeuvering would have kill it all, ogbeni must have got wrong in workers salary, aregbe legacy in physical infrastructure is what convince many electorate to slog it out for APC

Stupidity is when a party is rallying round the worst performing governor in Nigeria but wants to drop its best performing governor.
Its a sign that such party is antithetic to good governance

Putting selfish interest first instead of the interest of lagos state.

Just because free money is not going around as before, they want to gang up against him.

Dont compare osun election with lagos or any state election , its would have been a different ball game if d election were to hold on d same day with the presidency election because the masses all over the country will concentrate on other states than focusing on d particular state and it will be easy for Apc to rigged , without anybody knowing. Let keep our finger crossed and pray for a better candidate to emerge either president or governor inrespective of the party.

The lessons of the current outcome of Osun election are more poignant for Lagos All Progressives Congress (APC) actors than Osun political actors who will face a rerun on Thursday as announced by Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

APC would have kissed Osun goodbye today if not for Osogbo result that significantly downgraded Hurricane Ede. It would have been a kiss of death!

Electorates are getting more sophisticated and any electoral permutations that do not factor the voters' behaviour will deliver nothing.
Lagos APC chieftains are behaving like spoilt brats thinking they have Lagos in the Kitty and some guys in the name of a bloc within the party can take the voters in Lagos for granted.

Attempting to replace Ambode, a performing and sitting governor of Lagos who is APC poster boy for good governance may not be too good for Lagos APC with a Jimi Agbaje resurgence.

A Jimi Agbaje on the ballot for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos can throw up the current scenario in Osun for Lagos in next year election.

Beyond the challenge from PDP in Osun, APC from field reports went to battle in Osun with a divided party. Lagos voters can punish APC next year if it turned out that vested interests who see governance as simply their personal interests can conspire to deny a governor a second term.

The Osun election result today should help the APC actors in Lagos to have some introspection and realign interests for the greater good of the party and the people of Lagos.

Osun just underscores the importance of credible candidate for both the APC and PDP. If PDP had presented Ogunbiyi there may have been a clear winner. If APC had presented a candidate without the baggage of Aregbesola too the outcome may have been different.

APC cannot afford to offend the voters in Lagos. There is already a growing resentment against the internal contradictions within the party. Whatever that suggests lack of respect for the electorates should be dropped now.
An Ambode will make Lagos an easy win for APC.

Ajayi is a Lagos-based political analyst

Oga, you spoke my mind! As a matter of fact, since neither of the two predominant parties are any good, I would prefer PDP wins Osun just to make a mockery of Bola Tinubu's self perceived power grin

This is exactly what I was telling someone, if Ambode is not given the ticket, their action will definitely divide their camp into two, and will definitely play a huge role in the coming election for the opposition party.

I think it's a great testimony that nobody, not even the opposition is shouting "they rigged". Maybe because the election was inconclusive and there's a rerun.

But whatever the case may be, I think Nigerian elections are getting better.

Now, the only major challenge would be to educate the masses about what constitutes good government and credible candidacy.

That's a thumbs up for us. Maybe Nigeria will get it right someday in the future. If the rerun goes without a hitch and the general elections next year also go well, then I'll be truly proud of Nigeria and Nigerians.

The way it is,. Psychologically even many of those who voted for APC in the affected areas may decide to vote for PDP out of sympathy. Now it seems rigging is becoming very very difficult if a party candidate is unpopular.

In my own view ,I think the decision of APC is a unanimous one and by going to primaries the party bigwigs have shifted the responsibility of dropping ambode on the party members, the party may remain intact but what I think may cause APC problems is non partisan voters who are not APC members but always vote. They are the ones who may decide to dump APC and vote for the opposition. And lastly,APC is really making the ambode issue look like a gang up against ambode because he is not doling out money to some party bigwigs ,the kwam1 video has done a big damage in this regard . Seing voters are watching the game closely

I am not sure eitherway , but it was rumored that one of the contestants in PDP was Tinubu's relative that's before primaries which consisted of mother of all riggings and bribing , i heard the settlement was 2B to the contestant before they settled out of court

I didn't vote for Ambode during the last election, but I promise I'll vote for him this time, if he is not given the ticket, then my vote is going to someone else.

Apart from those that are not partisan, there are still those who are very loyal to Ambode and will be angry if he is not given the ticket.

This is going to be tough one for APC, they might think they have everything in check but believe be it will come out as a surprise, just like what's happening in Osun state, before they realise it, it might be too late.
