The Magic Numbers For APC, PDP To Win Osun by PassingShot(m): 4:35pm On Sep 26, 2018
This thread is informed by this particular thread where PDP was reported to have released the number of PVC collected in the polling units where the re-run election is holding in Osun tomorrow. I was shocked to read many comments erroneously stating the number of votes APC will need to clinch the election, especially this one here:
Validated:
This is good. Let us see how INEC will record 1600 votes needed by APC out of estimated 1300 turnout expected.
As shocking as the the claim is, it’s more shocking that it has garnered over 80 “likes” and still counting. If you “liked” that post, please enroll yourself in a good primary school to learn arithmetic.

Here are the magic numbers (based on the claimed 2,594 collected PVCs) for both parties to win the election:

Assuming about 50% turnout:

Total votes recorded will be about 1,300
APC will only need 354 (one more vote on the current 353 gap by which PDP is leading) + 473 (50% of the remaining 946 votes) = 827 votes for APC to win.

PDP only needs to score 473 votes to win at about 50% turnout.

At about 60% turnout: i.e about 1,555
APC needs 354 votes + 601 votes = 955 votes.
PDP needs 601 votes at about 60% turnout.

At about 70% turnout: 1816 votes
APC neess 354 + 732 = 1086
PDP needs 732 votes

At about 80% turnout: 2075 votes
APC needs 354 + 961 =1315
PDP needs 961 votes

At about 90% turnout: 2335 votes
APC needs 354 + 991 = 1345 votes
PDP needs 991 votes

Hope this is clear. Tomorrow will surely be interesting.

I care less about who wins at this stage. I just want to correct the wrong belief of what APC needs to win this election.

PDP will have a good case in the court against INEC but for tomorrow election, there is no way PDP will have 100 votes.

No surprise tomorrow APC can vomit the plus number without fear of favour, 'LET GO TO THE COURT '

What will happen if the rerun election is also inconclusive?
(a) Conduct a re-rerun
(b) Play penalty
(c) Share points
(d) Give victory to another candidate
(e) Toss coin
(f) Declare both of them Governor, Governor 1 and Governor 2
(g) Put both candidates in a cage fight, fight to death.
(h) Put both of them in a dancing competition
(I) Put both of them in a quiz competition

Doubt any of the winner will be able to pay full salary sef. Osun state is too enmeshed in debt coupled with the fact that they're majorly a civil service state. More needed to be done by the winner to ensure the state generates money internally rather than depend solely on FCA.

But nothing is wrong in trying someone else.

The present party failed them. So they should continue sticking with them?

I was happy when Fayose was kicked out. I think Aregbe and his stooge should rest too. You can't let people commit themselves for 30 days and Modulate their salaries.

With the high stake in this election, anybody that thinks there will be only 50% turnout, is just joking. The turn will be very high. Everybody there with PVC will most likely vote, even those that have relocated out of the state with PVC in those units will most likely return and vote. Expect votes to sell as much as 800k to 1million naira. Let PDP not cow themselves that 353 vote margin cannot be overturned.

If APC needs about 1500 votes to win irrespective of who other voters vote. 1million per those voters is about 1.5 billion Naira. That is chicken change to win an election. You never see anything
