Fresh report has it that the Joint Task Force constituted by the chief of army staff, Lt Gen TY Buratai, has found the vehicle belonging to Maj Gen. Idria Nur Alkali (rtd), at a pond in Paddock in Lafendeg Du Plateau State. 

The joint task force comprising of officers and soldiers from 3 Division Quick Response Team, Operation Safe Haven, Nigeria Police Force, Vehicle Inspection Office, Fire Service, as well as local divers, found the vehicle today after weeks of searching for the missing general. 

The army general went missing after leaving his house in Abuja on Monday 3/09/2018 for Bauchi where he has a farm but is yet to be found. He was alleged to have been kidnapped in Plateau state.

According to a military report, several logistics issues including the alleged sabotage from the host communities have hampered the success of the operation.

Due to the terrain in the general areas of Paddock in Lafendeg Du Plateau State, the task force consulted a Chinese construction company working in that area who promised to assist in drilling out water from the pond where it was suspected that the vehicle belonging to the senior officer was pushed into.

In the midst of this challenge however, the Task Force continued with its search and rescue operation which led to the recovery of an 18-Seater Hummer Bus door.

murder case, someone somewhere wants powerful army Generals flushed out.... a major General, lieutenant General or a full fledge General can't just go missing with his kind of security architecture, even his wife can't go missing.. a military oderly, a military driver all armed, with his access to service pistol. its easier to pick up a police DIG than for a Nigerian army General to go missing. it is becoming clearer the cuases of the herdsmen/farmers clashes, some locals in that axis are complicit in various crimes, like paid assassination, kidnap and perhaps cannibalism. the army should also raid and sanitize, kaduna/abuja/Niger axis. Sadly I might have to agree with Mr president and emir sanusi, many lone traveling Fulani herdsmen might have disappeared in that axis, prompting a retaliation.
