I just moved to this apartment like 2month ago and I noticed that my leather shoes gather white dust and decay, even my belt. The wooden wardrobe is not left out too. Pls what do you guys think is causing this.

This is caused by dampness in the room as a result of moisture due to water seepage through the floor or the walls. Keep the room dry always.

Does it smell of rotten fish?

no Lagos, but i learn there is a stream close to where i live. I stay in Berger area of Lagos... I also notice that my bed often feels wet , as if i peed or something.lol

Don't allow any of your properties touch the wall or the floor directly.

Ensure your room is well aerated. Always open your windows for cross ventilation.

Don't allow dusts to settle on those shoes again.

Lastly, dry them in the sun, anytime it feels wet again.

No, but it was because my room was always under lock, so no room for ventilation. I started living my window open even when I go to work, then it stopped
