Call your sister, seat with her and find out what led to such disrespectful act

Go separate to your mother ask her what led to such disunity act

If its something you an resolve do so but if it's beyond you take it to the elders

But your mum would have warranted it because its unheard-of for a child to slap her mother just like that

I'm not excusing your sister's actions, I believe something is wrong with her. the fact that she wasn't a problematic child prior to the incident is a pointer to that.Fighting your mum might be her way of trying to get attention or help.

I think you should talk to her and find out what her problem is.
