Recalling how he was humiliated by his son during the elections, he said: "What happened to me during the last election was a misfortune. I never expected it but I know that was how the Almighty Allah wanted it, and I have taken it as a human being. Since I never expected that it would be my blood."  

Explaining how the reconciliation between him and his son occurred, Olusola Saraki said: "On the second day of the election, I travelled to USA and four days after the election, Bukola came to see me in Los Angeles to apologise.  

"Later, he made all manner of influential and highly respected people to beg me, and I realise that if I want peace to reign in Kwara, and for opposition party not to be given chances like it happened in the last election, I have to listen to him."  

  
He also warned the Governor of the state to see him as an elder statesman and accord him the respect he deserves. He also warned him to always consult him on how to move the state forward adding that his second term in office would be determined by how he ran the affairs of the state.

Bukola was not trying to defeat him. He simply backed a candidate different from the one his father had publicly endorsed - and won! A big humiliation for a politician of Olusola stature.
This was not about transferring power - Bukola was the governor - power had already been transfered.

Hogwash. Power had already been transferred. His son was already governor. But Olusola, like a typical godfather, still wanted to be calling all the shots. But his son, like most political godsons, eventually rebelled. Olusola, like most people, wanted to have power till his last breath - heck, he said so himself to the incoming governor!

People transfer power all the time without trick.
Oloye did too but being a typical godfather he couldn't just leave the field. He had to still try to play all powerful and was humiliated by his own son to whom he had transfered power. Those are the facts. Stop believing conspiracy nonesense.
