allexpensive:so because veterans have been homeless in the USA, then veterans should be owed pension for a full year in Nigeria ![]() How many Nigerian veterans are homeless or living in poverty, do you have the figures? Show me a post were veterans who served for more than 20 years are homeless in the USA, most of those homeless guys might not even serve for up to 5 years,so they won't be giving pension. We will always find an excuse sha in Nigeria ![]() It's an insult to compare the Nigeria military with that of the USA sef in terms of everything, a Nigeria military that has been fighting boko haram that fights with weapons mostly stolen from the Nigeria military in Nigeria for close to 10 years and are still struggling... Fulani herdsmen and bandits are giving the civilian beaters( Nigeria military) a good run for there money sef ![]() A wing commander jet was shot down and the man was beheaded by boko haram in a video, the spokesman of the Nigeria airforce(air commodore dele alonge) denied the man was an air force personnel, until his lies were busted I'm expecting you to tell me about how a UK aifrorce personnel was also denied by the UK air force soon ![]()

Buhari thought the civilians beaters could handle Niger delta militants when he stopped paying the militants, by the time the militants started wrecking havoc in the Niger Delta, the mumu Fulani man started paying back the militants ![]() The Nigeria military is struggling against militias in the north central and north east, they are struggling against boko haram, they are only able to intimidate the peaceful IPOB, I'm sure if those once start carrying guns, they(Nigerian military) will start crying about not been equipped well and start manoeuvering tactically into Cameroon ![]() Good bye, I will be back again in 2-3 weeks time ![]() |

walemoney007:Usual spill from a civilian who knows nothing about the military bureaucracy. A full scale attack on Nigeria delta militants will have them silenced. They have been hiding under the cover of innocent civilians and their community has been protecting them. Not minding this, the useless media will paint the military bad and this is what MOD has been avoiding. |

Guys something happened today in my area, I saw people lining up enmeass, upon enquiry on what's going on, I was told that the FG is sharing the Abacha loot to the masses(N10,000). I was gobsmacked, the first thing that came to mind was, is this not the country in which her military is literally begging for money to fund the war against insurgency? It then occured to me that the FG is not serious in this fight wallahi. It is shameful even to conduct enlistment some arm of service are finding it difficult because of paucity of funds, yet we can't set our priorities right. |

Lol, corruption, no way in hell should any Government be giving cash to anyone. And if at all that happens, that money should go straight into their banking accounts. I doubt this is some abacha loot. The idea of giving free money to one part of people in the country and not the rest is insane at best. Invest that money into job training, give long term loans to people with very little interest etc. But to give out cash? while people line up for it, lol, that's sad and backwards. |

allexpensive:just the way a full scale attack on boko haram since a state of emergency was declared in the north east by GEJ has made boko haram totally silent and defeated. We all saw the result of a full scale attack on odi in bayelsa and zaki biam in benue, and we can see how it's keeping the people of plateau state safe. The Nigeria military is only powerful when facing unarmed civilians and IPOB. |

kikuyu1:the military or government does not care if you beg to survive or die,in fact,a lot of Nigeria senior military officers want you to die so they will share your pension among each other. Forget all this pic they are busy showing you here,Nigeria is not a safe country...in most part of the middle belt people are killed everyday by Fulani herdsmen, cattle rustlers and different kind of armed bandits. Even the war on boko haram, is not been won by the military, everything is just propaganda by the useless buhari government and the Nigeria military compare the weapons boko haram capture from the Nigeria military with what the military capture from boko haram. It's just a matter of time before the middle belt shall capitulate. The kin news you hear about Nigeria, shame go just dey catch person ![]() Well,I dey Kuala Lumpur dey monitor as things dey go ![]() |

walemoney007:Collateral damage. I have been in an encounter with bokoharam using human shield during our offensive. In most cases, advancing becomes really hard due to the presence of civilians. Mind you, ISWAP /bht have several of our offensive on video ready to embarrass the military with collateral damages. |

Please soldiers and my fellow civilians on the thread, can someone just enlighten me more or their own opinion why they think the Nigerian Military head decided to use $600m for the acquisition of super tucanos trainer aircraft, when they can get this 1) Ka -52 Russian helicopter at unit cost of $16m which 10 of it will cost ($160m) and we will still have enough change for guns ![]() 2) Bell AH1 Cobra helicopter at unit cost of $11.3m 12 units of it will cost $135.6m.. they will still be balance for more upgrade ![]() 3 Chinook CH 47 helicopter at unit cost of $38.55m and 10 units will cost $385.5m... With this, Boko Haram won't be able to see their period .... Remember this Chinook helicopter can also serve as medium transport and also the KA 52. NOTE: This is my own opinion it's open for criticism. You can also modify it anybody can comment on it.

joshingjosh:You've asked a very good question and in a very mature way. First of all, the KA 52, Chinook and Bell AH1 cobra etc..... are also very good assets and we need them. But here comes the question what do we really need to change the tide of these war, we can respond get every of these things you've mentioned, then when we call ORDER OF PRIORITY sets in. The super tucano is not only an aircraft trainer, it can be used for ISR and border patrol missions and attack aircraft to support ground troops. And these aircraft can deliver varieties of munitions. I think the problem is the huge price been splashed on the 12 aircrafts but considering what we will be getting from the entire package deal; it's not a waste at all !!! Some few pages back I have highlighted most of what we are getting if not all; the equipment, infrastructure & training etc. The super tucano is really a game changer compared to the other assets you've mentioned. We really need them, it was specifically designed for COIN/Border patrol. Air power is critical to a successful counter terrorism campaign, the Indonesian airforce knew how these aircraft changed the dynamics of the war. |

First time NAF has mentioned the JF-17 in any of their official statements. “PAKISTAN ASSURES NAF OF INCREASED STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP IN EQUIPMENT ACQUISITION, TRAINING, OTHERS The Islamic Republic of Pakistan has assured the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) of its readiness to strengthen its strategic partnership with the Service in equipment and spares acquisition, research and development, training and other relevant areas to further enhance professionalism and build capacity for the effective and efficient employment of Air Power. This was made known yesterday, 4 October 2018, by the Pakistan High Commissioner to Nigeria, Major General Waqar Ahmad Kingravi (Retired), during a courtesy visit to the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, at the Headquarters (HQ) NAF Abuja. While speaking during the visit, the Pakistan High Commissioner expressed his appreciation to the CAS for the warm reception accorded him and the Defence Adviser, Colonel Shahid Aziz, who accompanied him on the visit. He said he was at HQ NAF to assure the CAS of the commitment of the Pakistan Government to strengthening the existing cordial relationship between Nigeria and Pakistan, which had spanned several decades and yielded several mutually beneficial military collaborations. The High Commissioner noted that he, having once headed the Army Aviation Corp of the Pakistan Army, was familiar with peculiar requirements of air operations and would pay particular attention to ensure that the ties between the air forces of the 2 countries were taken to even greater heights. Major General Waqar also used the opportunity to commiserate with the NAF for the tragic air mishap that occurred on 28 September 2018, which led to the death of Squadron Leader Mohammed Bello Baba-Ari. In his remarks, Air Marshal Abubakar welcomed the Pakistan High Commissioner to Nigeria and thanked him for visiting HQ NAF. The CAS confirmed that the relationship between the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) and NAF was extremely cordial and had continued to grow over the past few years. He noted that the story of the successes recorded in the counter insurgency operations in the North East could not be written without mentioning the support rendered by the Pakistan Government. He recounted several occasions when the PAF had gone beyond the usual to assist the NAF. Air Marshal Abubakar therefore assured the High Commissioner that the NAF would continue to provide the necessary support and cooperation to enable him succeed. The CAS however used the opportunity to canvass for closer coordination in order to fast track the process for the acquisition of the JF-17 multirole fighter aircraft from Pakistan. He also appealed to the High Commissioner to liaise with PAF to develop a special programme for the conduct of basic fighter training for NAF pilots.
