Atiku Banking On The Next 48 Hours To Beat Tambuwal To Pdp's Presidential Ticket by Agritech(m): 7:03pm On Oct 04, 2018
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar is still very confident of his chances despite the glaring wish of Nyesom Wike, Governor Rivers State, for Aminu Tambuwal, former Speaker of the House of Representatives, to emerge the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The PDP presidential primary holds on Saturday in Port Harcourt, Rivers State — a venue that was single-handedly picked by Wike, who is currently the ex-ruling party’s financier.
A source very close to Wike told SaharaReporters on Thursday that Wike intends to “do everything” to ensure Tambuwal emerges victor.
“The idea is to give everything to help Tambuwal get the ticket,” said the source, who asked not to be named.
“And this shouldn’t be too difficult because Wike controls PDP now. He is the biggest spender; he is the moneybag. He is the one holding PDP financially. He is backing Tambuwal and he will succeed in it.”
SaharaReporters understands that despite all his presidential posturing, Bukola Saraki and his team understand that their chances are limited, and the plan, in any case, was always to make a statement because the presidential ticket is out of reach.
“Saraki will not get it because he can’t go far, and we know all of these things,” said a source from Saraki’s camp. “I think Saraki is just trying to make a statement. We know he doesn’t stand a chance of getting the ticket. It is between Atiku and Tambuwal.”
Atiku, meanwhile, is “feeling very good” and is "banking on the next 48 hours" to turn the tide against frontrunner Tambuwal.
“The assumption has always been that Tambuwal will easily get the ticket,” a source in Atiku’s camp told SaharaReporters, “but I believe a lot of things have taken place in the last 48 hours in such a way that events may not play out as people think. You just watch out what will happen in the next 48 hours. And I can tell you that for now, we’re looking very good.”
Pressed on what exact strategy would be explored in the 48 hours, he said: "No chance. No chance. Don't let me jinx it. YOu will know at the eleventh hour."

This write-up is trying to reduce the chances of Saraki while at same time increasing the weak chance of Tambuwa with a very weak network worldwide.

Tambuwa is not a front-runner in this race OP, the battle is between Atiku and Saraki.

Quote me after the PDP Presidential primary election. Saraki will come a distance of 3rd if not lower that.

Are you sure? Tambuwal and Atiku are the real players here ó. While Tambuwal is game, Atiku is a cunny player. Don't be surprised Saraki is going back to the senate.

One of 2 people can make Buhari lose sleep... Tambuwal and Atiku.

Tambuwal, not necessarily because he's strong or he has a personal structure to fall back on. But because he's relatively younger, more articulate, would enjoy caliphate support, has Wike's backing and has probably not jumped from party to party too much.

Atiku, may give Buhari a good run. He has structure despite not enjoying Ota/Abeokuta backing. He's also very experienced and understands a lot of politics (though not too good at politicking). But his geopolitical region may be some sort of minus for him as Buhari may just claim Northwest. Also, this jumping up and down political parties makes him look desperate. Hence, he may not be well trusted.

But for Saraki, I think he has the senatorial seat of his constituents waiting for him as soon as he's ready to take it back. He only wants to make a statement.

You guys didn't mention Kwankwaso, I am surprised that at you guys mentioning Tambuwal, that is an easy ride for PMB, Well whatever game Wike is playing, I believe he got it wrong this time around, it it's not Atiku, Saraki and Kwankwaso then PDP should forget it

The moment Obasanjo went into closed door meeting with Tambuwal, I knew things were concluded.

But how come Tambuwal is the front-runner but we had see his pictures touring states.

I guess it's not about online noisemaking after all.

And Tambuwal wouldn't be a bad pick.

He still enjoys immunity.

Not any corruption case known yet, is on him.

He's young.

He's from Northwest, to divide the vote with our lifeless nigga.

The core north would not mind switching allegiance to him.

Tambuwal is OK.

Though personally I would have gone for Saraki because of his capacity but APC will run him down.

. Bros i disagree with you, what makes you think tambuwal would be an easy ride for the lifeless to victory. Though, am not his fan but for you to say only the treplet you mention can do the needful is what i think is wrong. Especially, atiku and saraki, there's a general perception about this duo hence it will be more difficult for them. There is nothing like wike playing game, every body has insterest in whatever he/she is part and that's not exceptional to wike alone. Pdp deligates across the country are to elect who will flag bear and not river's pdp alone.

Most of us may not really understand how the North plays politics. It is "He" whom the caliphate supports and presents that wins elections in the north even if such is stark illiterate. The caliphate goes for the presidency and nothing less(they care less about the VP position). To the caliphate, a northern president must either come from the Sokoto axis (Sokoto, Zamfara and Kebbi) or Kano axis(Kano, Katsina and Jigawa). Outside of these power axis, none is considered northern enough to be accepted by the caliphate. Atiku and Saraki are not from any of the power axis. The best they can have is the vice president(the north cares less about that). The caliphate is the silent controller of northern politics. Just as Tinubu dictates the political direction of the SW so does the caliphate and it's oligarchy dictates the political direction of the North.

Wike is very smart. The antecedents of Atiku and Saraki are well known. Both have three things in common - Greed, Corrupt and Betrayal. Wike, I know, will never allow himself to be at the mercy of any of the duo. They will mess him up. These duo are only out for themselves and won't give a damn about anyone standing up to them should power be allowed to fall to their hands. Excessively greedy, excessively corrupt and cannot be trusted.

Tambuwal is the best. Less noise, youthful, exposed, audacious, decent and educated. He is about the best at the forefront we have now. Closer to PMB than Atiku and Saraki yet he went against him. I support Wike on this.

Well hope it's free and fair, they should get it right this time around, because if they work together they will surely send PMB back to Daura, but if not I don't think they will make it.

And Wike should not speak ill of other aspirants you should support whoever he want to support that his right, but should not bully others.

So the two favourites are among those who were with the APC since 2014 and only recently defected to the PDP?

What happened to those who have been loyal and have stayed put with the PDP ever since?
