Obi1kenobi :

Interesting...you for at least quote me, nah....let me know someone was attacking me, rather than copy and pasting comments.
1) Not every Igbo on Nairaland believe what you claim. There are something like half a dozen of you that assert it all the time.
2) They do it because their ego is bruised from being told hard truths - and double-bruised when the hard truths come from a kinsman. Delegitimizing my origin soothes their ego better. Reminds me of an American website a few weeks ago where some black Americans claimed criticisms of Serena William's tirade at the umpire in a match was motivated by racism. When I pointed out that as a black person, I resent seeing racism trivialized and playing the race card to cover bad behavior from black people, these black Americans claimed I'm just a white troll impersonating a black person. People who embrace the hive mentality and group-think don't cope very well with criticism from one of their own. Jewish critics of Israel come in for pretty savage attacks from the hardline right of the pro-Israel lobby.

Lol! Look at you talking under the weight of your own fallacious argument. Trying to exonerate your self from the criticism of most Igbos here, by trying to prove that everything is wrong with all Igbos who accuse you of impersonation, while nothing is wrong with you in particular.
I'm surprise you don't see the similarity between your defense of yourself against our criticism, to the defense of Igbos, against Nigerians resentment. grin
Well, you can't eat your cake and have it. You are probably not the only impersonator here, yet you stick out like sour thumb. Yes, blame everybody else, but yourself.
See, the same logic you apply on Ndiigbo and our defense of Nigerians resentment against us, that you dismiss, is the same logic I'm currently appealing to you, but you wouldn't accept. Lol!
You just showed that you can't take a dose of same medicine you want Igbos to take. You want us to accept the distorted lies Nigerians use to justify their resentments towards us, since according to your logic, they can't all be wrong, while we are right, even if we are convinced we are right. But somehow, you unmistakably want the world to accept that you are Igbo, despite most us saying you are not.

Anyone that reads my comments in a recent thread like this:
https://www.nairaland.com/4728283/brazil-adopts-yoruba-official-language/6#71192797
or my posting history and comes away thinking I'm some impersonating Yoruba posing as Igbo is beyond help. But whatever helps you feel better is okay.

This means nothing. You were only covering your tracks. It's part and parcel of the impostor process. You have to atleast attempt to be non Yoruba at some point to sell your charade. You deceive no one.

Whether I'm Igbo or not, I criticize whoever the hell I want, whenever I want, however I want. I need no one's permission. Also, there is nowhere I ever said only Igbo people brag - so that's just a strawman distortion. I've been clear that this brash arrogance is disproportionately prevalent among Igbos. Igbos are Nigeria's biggest supremacists. We're well famed for it. It is among Igbos you hear nonsense about being "the most intelligent black race" (there's one snapshot like that meatheads like to post here asserting the rubbish). It's Igbos that love to insult Northerners as basically low IQ subhumans (the only people on Nairaland I've ever shut down for saying Northerners are low IQ people are all Igbos with no exception). It's Igbos that are obsessed with appropriating an alien culture as their own (claiming to be Jews) because they believe it to elevate them over other black ass niggas. Yes, I'd say Igbos do it more than other groups.

Exactly our point, you have the right to criticize whoever you want, but why exactly you felt the need to impersonate Ndiigbo, in order to criticize us and go Scot free, is what I'm yet to understand. You possibly couldn't have thought you can fool all of us here, could you?

You have no evidence to prove it's disapproportionate amongst the Igbos. It's just your jaundiced opinions, and as long as we accept that these allegations are your biased opinions, devoid of facts and borne out of your deep Igbophobia, we would be cool. Since I was young, I have heard Yorubas boast to high heavens How they are the most educated group in Nigeria, how they are the most intelligent, most sophisticated, we were deafened with stories of how Ndiigbo are illiterate traders who don't go to school . It was so bad here in early days of Nairaland until a NL Afaukwu, made a myth busting thread on JAMB stats https://www.nairaland.com/237534/look-going-school-nigeria-statistics#3497176 before Ndiigbo could start challenging the Yoruba empty boasting here on sophistication and education.

Yorubas have a thread on Jewish Origin of Yorubas here too, see it: https://www.nairaland.com/4475313/yoruba-hebrew-heritage

The Jewish stories of Igbo origins is not a widely accepted one In Igboland, it's mostly Aguleri/Umueri/Umunri story. You will not go to any Igbo town website and see story of origin from Israel. Even in this thread, the people who opposed the stories were still Igbos. But your Yoruboid mentality is only interested in seeking for negatives to pin on Ndiigbo.
I have also seen widely speculated stories of Yoruba origin from Saudi Arabia. Ijebu Yorubas in particular believe they came from Sudan.
I don't see you talking about all those. You are more fixated on Igbo stories. Your obsession with us is getting pathological.
Moreover, the linking of Igbos to Jews was not started by Igbos. It was started by colonials, and then Igbo missionaries did more work on it. During the war, Kissinger, the US secretary of state then, made this comment about Igbos :

I n a White House memo dated Tuesday, January 28, 1969, to President Nixon, former Secretary of State, Henry Kissinger describes the Igbos as “the wandering Jews of West Africa-gifted, aggressive, westernized, at best envied and resented, but mostly despised by their neighbors in the federation”(foreign relations document, volume E-5, documents on Africa 1969-1972).

The comparision of Igbos with Jews wasn't started by Ndiigbo. You are just a jealous and bitter Yoruba man.

I also have numerous times seen Hausa-Fulanis talk thrash about Ndiigbo here, and Yorubas doing same
I guess it's all subjective biased assessments and we both see what we want to see, Huh?

Demonstrate? No, I have conducted no scientific study "demonstrating" it and no one is interested in such a study. I have lived and interacted long enough with other Nigerians to state obvious group perceptions. I stated what every Nigeria group knows. If you conducted a poll among all Nigerian groups as to the most arrogant, insufferable group in Nigeria, Igbos would win in a landslide. I know this. You know this, despite the bravado. We all know this. But keep waiting for my Newtonian demonstration to establish the reality.

An ant can never be innocent in the midst of chickens. If you travel to Sri Lanka and ask them the most malignant group , they would say Tamil. If you go to Nazi Germany and asked them the most greedy group, they would say the Jews.
What you literally did was begging the question. We already know that all Nigerian groups resent Igbos, so how exactly are you going to use that to try to prove a point, when that is already the meat of the argument?
If we conduct a poll here and ask real Igbos the ethnicity of Obi1kenobi, it would be a landslide victory for me, because it would be proved you are not Igbo. I hope you can now appreciate how circular the argument you were trying to advance there, is.

Well, for such a "hampered" group, the Yorubas seem to have done pretty well for themselves home and abroad. And don't seem to aggravate other groups in Nigeria as much as Igbos while succeeding. That gives me pause. Another strawman you've created is looking to make out that I am blaming Igbos for all the resentment they attract. I have said that "there is plenty of blame to go around", but pointed out Igbo behavior that contributes to this. Yorubas for example aren't as widely distributed around Nigeria as Igbos which might contribute to why there isn't as much conflict between them and other groups as with Igbos and their host communities. All I sought to point out was how Igbos contribute to the perception about them rather than solely arrogating blame to them. Case in point was your nonsensical point about Aniomas yesterday making it out like many of them reject Igbo identity because they are somehow jealous of us and fearful of our competitive dominance (nevermind that Aniomas are one of Nigeria's most successful clans). Arrogance like that contributes to the perception of Igbos in Nigeria, and contributes to the identity crisis of Igboid groups.
It's interesting that you talk about "herd mentality" with no sense of irony, when you think any self-critical Igbo man is an impostor because you're intolerant of his views. You encapsulate everything about herd mentality.

Stop speaking from both sides of the mouth. Igbos outside Nigeria don't seem to attract Igbophobia. It's mostly in Nigeria.
The whole meat of your argument is to advance the falsehood that Ndiigbo exhibit arrogancy not seen in other Nigerian groups, which you had so far failed to prove, other than your jaundiced Igbophobic opinions, you have nothing whatsoever so far, to back this your calumny.

As for the Anioma guy. He was yet again propagating one of the many falsehoods against the Igbo by Nigerians, which was that Igbos are greedy. It was well calculated to spite and demonize Ndiigbo. I quickly debunked his fallacies and quickly went on attack by propagating a psych damaging remark against his own group too, I had since learnt that the way to keep propagandists in check, is to always keep them in defense mode, by propounding a propaganda against them. But the Igbophobic Afonja in you didn't see the falsehood he was propagating against Ndiigbo, you were more interested in my rebuttal to him.
For those who care to know, this was the thread :
https://www.nairaland.com/4761897/igbo-community-delta-endorses-okowa/6#71725946

You epitomize the herd mentality. See how irrational your argument are. "The whole Nigerian groups accuse Igbos of arrogancy, therefore, Igbos must be the most arrogant of all". This is the argument you have been pushing here since day one. Herd mentality redefined.

I wasn't trying to change you, sunshine. I already asserted before that whatever you imagine me to be doesn't change a single hair on my head. A couple of Nairalanders (including one of the bigger mischief makers, Chino) know my real name - probably from my interactions on a job or NYSC thread years ago, or an email address I once posted. Calling me an "afonja" or aboki or whatever you choose is your prerogative on an anonymous internet forum. We have no restrictions to our foolishness here.[

You are not Igbo, full stop. Nevertheless, if you are looking to prove you are Igbo, Chino is the last person you should be looking to vouch for your Igbo identity here, for obvious reasons I'm sure you are aware of.

You have turned this thread into a HIGHLY EDUCATIVE Igbo seminar and conference. Most of us are reading diligently and interestingly your educative and expository lectures on Igbo affairs.

pazienza:

Nope. Those are excuses used to justify the original sin, which is "being Igbo".

Are the Yorubas subtle? They live flamboyant lifestyle, throw Owambe up and down, wear the best clothes even with empty bank accounts. They are loudmouthed and boastful too. They tell whoever that care to listen How they are the most sophisticated group in Nigeria, how they lead in Education, entertainment, etc. How they produced many firsts in Nigeria, how they built first TV station, first tallest building, etc. I have heard it all from them.
It was on this forum we were all told and insulted on daily basis about how the entire Osun IGR is supposedly bigger than those of the entire SE, until the recession came, and they couldn't pay salaries, only then did the loud mouthed ones crawl into their caves.

What about the Hausa-Fulani. They threatened fire and brimstone, should power not return to the North. On daily basis, they made inflammatory statements.
They told their Yoruba partners how they should forget Kwara, should they attempt to go for independence from Nigeria, they went to news media and told the Yorubas How they conquered and converted their pagan clans to Muslims in Ilorin and continue to rule Ilorin today, how is that for subtlety?
Buhari threatened baboon and Monkey getting soaked in blood should he lose the election in 2011,how is that for subtlety?
The current emir of Kano, had the temerity to openly tell the Yorubas that they are the trouble with Nigeria. How is that for subtlety? Yorubas didn't do anything about it. Imaginre if it were Ndiigbo that made that statement, what the rest of Nigerians would say.

None of those groups are subtle, don't let them "psycho bully" you into accepting that Ndiigbo are overdoing things more than they themselves are.

Y should APGA uphold a primary election marred with violence.

Y should three candidate come from Nnewi?

Y not just Bianca Ojukwu representing Nnewi?

APGA need to cancel that Senatorial primary and call another.

If Osun election, Ekiti can be canceal and rerun, the Senatorial primary for Anambra South should be canceled and rerun.

Let Bianca go and contest in her fatherland - enugu state to be precise.

However, I won't lie, I see some truths in some of his commentary but I think it's a bit too much in my opinion.

Interesting.....so a thread in which I was defending Enugu from attacks from Anambra people is the "trap" I fell into? And he wasn't the only one rubbishing Enugu on the thread. There were like 2 other people on the Anambra thread that joined him. So, it was wrong for me to caution Igbo people tarnishing our image with silly interstate mud-slinging? And yes, the poster in question has multiple handles, but he's allowed to run amok on threads insulting every other Igbo state, and he either gets some support from fellow Anambrarians (not include his multiple accounts) or there is silence. Anytime you see any Igbos sowing division, it should be your duty to shut it down. And I've made a lot of positive contributions on the Anambra thread.
And I'm from Amaeze. I was one of the Excos of our Oraukwu Undergraduate Association in UNN and both Prof P.N. Okeke and F.N.Okeke (from Ibenabo in Oraukwu) were our chief patrons. So it's funny to me how some twats on an anonymous internet forum can sit behind their keyboards and somehow believe they own some self-ascribed right to pronounce who is Igbo and who isn't. But like I told them before, there are no rules against foolishness here.
Its so hypocritical of you to say no one calls them to order. What is wrong with you? Chino and his multiple handles have been called out severally here but as an Igbophobic guy, you overlook such posts looking for the ones to demean Igbos. At page 212 of this thread i called out the numerous handles chino operates with and bestview is among them but you don't see such posts, you go about on nairaland looking for where to attack Ndiigbo particularly Anambra people.
Like Pazienza said, for you to prove your Igboness recommending Chino as witness says much about you.

You want us to accept the distorted lies Nigerians use to justify their resentments towards us, since according to your logic, they can't all be wrong, while we are right, even if we are convinced we are right. But somehow, you unmistakably want the world to accept that you are Igbo, despite most us saying you are not.

This means nothing. You were only covering your tracks. It's part and parcel of the impostor process. You have to atleast attempt to be non Yoruba at some point to sell your charade. You deceive no one.

You are not Igbo, full stop. Nevertheless, if you are looking to prove you are Igbo, Chino is the last person you should be looking to vouch for your Igbo identity here, for obvious reasons I'm sure you are aware of.

Okay, mate. I'm an Afonja impersonating Igbos. grin You could have condensed that in like a quarter the words and made your response less tedious.

It's also rather meaningless saying that my observations about Igbo arrogance are devoid of "fact" or "evidence" as if it's a physics postulation. If by "fact", you mean some empirical measurement of arrogance using my specially invented arrogance-meter to test all Nigerian tribes, that neither sounds plausible nor possible in the real world. Maybe you should define what you mean by "fact" in this context. To claim that based on this, the observation is "irrational" is being willfully obtuse. You're entitled to believe what you want about the fairness of the perception of Igbos held by other Nigerians. As for me, yes I find it entirely justifiable to point out the wide-held perception about Igbos from other groups. Stereotypes might often be skewed and hyperbolized and oversimplified, but stereotypes are built on foundational truths.

I'm not sure what you mean by Igbos outside Nigeria don't attract "Igbophobia". As if the average South African or Kenyan or Indian or Malaysian or Indonesian or Brazilian can distinguish Nigerian tribes from each other. Many Nigerians when insulting Kenyans for example somehow believe all Kenyans look like those black, lanky Maasai Nilotes because they're ignorant about Kenya and wouldn't know the Maasai are a small minority tribe. Discrimination against Nigerians from outsiders would hinge on generalized stereotypes about Nigerians and not whether you're Igbo or Yoruba or whoever.

What do we call the well known gully that has been at Nkwelle Oraukwu for long?

On the specific thread in question you're referring to, no one was calling him out, so I rebutted some of his comments about Enugu. What's your problem with that? I'm trying to understand the logic here - what was wrong in defending Enugu state when an Anambrarian was attacking it?

And I know nothing about Nkwelle, even though our area of Amaeze shares a transformer with them (and we rarely had light during Christmas while Ibenabor always enjoyed light). I could Google whatever gully you're talking about, but I'm not writing a citizen exam.

Obi1kenobi is not an Igbo person. He is an imposter trying to sow division among us. He operates with different moniker here to sow the seed of division.

He is likely to be an afonja

You must mask your tribalism with fake nationalism for you to progress. Thas the point. Igbos must learn to stop being too straightforward

So Igbo must learn to lie or call a spade a spoon right ?

Obi1kenobi may be wrong sometimes, but he definitely isnt wrong today.

Pazienza on the other hand may be right sometimes, but he is definitely wrong today. More so, he is an artful dodger shape shifting into different monikers.

No igbo just attacks ANAMBRA people, I for one, I don't do such. However, a lot of ANAMBRA owned monikers attack other Igbo communities. Today it is Abia, tomorrow it is Enugu or IMO, the next day it is Ebonyi or anioma people.

Pls the good people of ANAMBRA , call these lousy narcissistic monikers to order. You know them. Call them to order. If anyone at some point disagrees with their opinion, they start attacking the person's Igboness or even blackmail the person as being another moniker.
