PRESENTATION:
You wanna know what he was promised?? They would make him King.... He envied the position but knew he’d never be able to sit on the throne, there came the white with promise of dethroning the king and making him the head.. well resistance from other kings stopped that though.

With Cannons and guns against arrows & bow, spear, sword... they were definitely powerful.

Again the white are full of promises and threats... either way you’d do their bid smiley

That’s terrible I must say, but the whites are smarter now.. you think they would spearhead such thing in the 21 century huh? Without cover.

And these ain’t conspiracy like what Europeans sells to black
You have no valid point. Your contention that the transatlantic slave trade was a one man job is defective of historical accuracy. Even the most ardent African nationalists and whatnots acknowledge the role played by blacks during the slave trade.

Police public relations officer, CSP Dolapo Badmus, took her time in an exclusive interview to discuss certain issues bedeviling the society.

In the interview, Dolapo Badmus touched on issues like domestic violence and baby mama trend. She also mentioned the three major things Yahoo boys spend their money on.

Excerpts below.

Q. If you come across a Yahoo Boy and you ask him why he’s into what he’s doing, most of them often give this justification: They say the white people that they are defrauding right now, their ancestors enslaved our forefathers, so what they are doing right now is like paying them back. Is that a good justification?

Well, I don’t know from which history books they’ve read that the white people defrauded their forefathers. But history will tell you that it is even the black people that sold black people into slavery. If the white people had come and the black people resisted it, they won’t have had their field day. This slavery became a form of entrepreneurship for some set of black people and they gathered some other black people to sell into slavery. If you ask me, it has to some extent been a good one for us because we wouldn’t have had black Americans and we wouldn’t have had British that are black. So, thinking about that, I think it’s a no, no for me and I want our younger ones to stop thinking that way and start thinking positively. Rather than saying ‘Oh, they stole from our forefathers and we want to get back from them. It’s not giving us a good image abroad.

I never knew this Dolapo Badmus is as dumb as this, saying it's a good thing that slavery occurred making us have Black Americans. Bring your children let me sell them to Americans and be supportive of it because your grand children will become American citizens.

If you're to look well into history, you'll know very well that colonialism was mainly to reap out both human and material resources from Nigeria.

Human resources (Slavery) might have stopped partially, what about the material resources that's still on going. I'll bring your attention first to British American Tobacco and their operation in Igbeti, what they generate from that tobacco plant alone is more than what the entire south west receive as allocation annually. Nigerians are still the ones doing all the farming and cultivation of the tobacco and being paid peanuts which is another form of modern slavery.

Will the British government allow Nigerian government to own such operation plant, use their human resources and cultivate their farm?

We're still into slavery in Nigeria and we'll continue to be into slavery until people holding political positions stop being greedy and more importantly we think about competency when it comes to political positions and not popularity.

Load of horseshit.

She was right. very.

There's no way on Earth that Slave trade could have lasted for that long without blacks promoting it. Didn't we have witch doctors? If we were so defenseless against the whites why couldn't the witch doctors be brought over to fight for us? Because the various kings and chiefs silenced them. Infact the kings even used them to promote the trade. Heard about the well of memories, I think off the coast of badagry, supposedly built by blacks and poisoned, so that slaves about to be taken abroad would drink off the water from the well and forget their past? Of the white man was the sole individual involved in slave trade, why didn't he enslave the whole communities? Check out the calibre of people taken as slaves too. Better still watch Roots or read the book. The main protagonist, Kunta Kinte, was captured by black men and handed over to white men. What does that say? If the black men had squeezed the throats of the white men at first would they have captured Kinte?

I don't know why you'd try to sound learned when you know nothing. Slavery long existed in Africa. Arabs used to come buy slaves. What makes the Transatlantic slave trade so spectacular is that it was well documented, the slaves were treated badly, and their kids still suffer segregation in Europe and America today. Other than that, didn't we have slaves in Africa? How do you think some African kings are so rich today? Don't you know it's money they got from slavery?

All these facts are in African history books. Peruse it well.. Any professor in history would tell you point blank that Africans had a hand in the Transatlantic slave trade. One of the chief sourse of trade in precolonial Africa was slavery. So why do we want to hang the white man for something we supported?
Roots is a movie not a documentary, so please keep it off this topic.

There was no institutional slave trade among Africans before the Arabs and Europeans. If there was any; please tell me who, where, how slave trade happened among Africans before the Arabs and Europeans arrived. If you can't explain this to me, you have no case.

Look, both the Arabs and Europeans created the trade after many years of over-running African territories, unfortunately, the practice took on a life of it's own afterwards as incentives were created for our kings; such as helping them protect their kingdom against invasion or supplying them weapons of war.

The slaves were acquired by war, coercion, threat, fraud. Most of the slaves were prisoners of war!. A war situation that the Europeans created!.

What you now believe to be history is the history the Europeans told you after they created the incentives for our kings to perpetuate the trade. They would then give you an education to have you blame yourself for their crime.

The Europeans didn't just bring slave trade to Africa, they also took it to Brazil, Mexico, Peru, USA, Caribbeans, India, Australia. Were these countries all selling their brothers and sisters?

Quite laughable.

You're trying to be smart by half. There was institutional slavery in Africa way before the Arabs and others brought it. Are you not aware most of the kingdom those days flourished thru the sales of slaves?

Like I said what made the transatlantic slave trade despicable was the manner in which the slaves were treated and the fact that till today blacks are still under segregation.

Besides slavery is slavery. Either institutional, or acquired by war. There's no reason why a man should subjugate a fellow man to a submissive and demeaning position of forced servitude. Please do not exonerate the black man.

You haven't answered my question. Please let me know how the business of slave trade operated in Africa before our contract with Arabs and Europeans. Again, explain it to me cause I want to learn from you.

Do you know before colonialism, during time of abolition of slavery ; white people blamed themselves wholly for the Atlantic slave trade? Do you know that in 1776, when Thomas Jefferson wrote the US declaration of independence; he blamed King George III of Britain and the entire British people for the Atlantic slave trade?

It was only during colonialism that European missionaries exonerated themselves and gave us a brainwashing education telling us we're to be blamed. Yes, indeed, we're still under all forms of slavery because you keep holding tight lies your enemy sold you in order to subdue you eternally.

I don't know how you reason.

It's one thing to blame somebody wholly, and it's another thing for someone to be guilty wholly.

Been reading History books since I was young, got to the Uni and majored in History. Any book you consult would bring up the issue of slavery as a thing already existing in Africa before the white men came. A proof to that is that the word "slave" or "slavery" exists in major African languages. It was not a modern construct..

The white man declared his interest to buy slaves, the black man willingly agreed. It's unthinkable that the whites just came and took people for slaves. Highly unthinkable.

Also the movie Roots is based on the narrative of Kunta Kinte, the great grandfather of the author.. So it's accurate as accurate can be.

We didn't write the histories.

Everything you read in school as history is European version of African history, not African version of African history. When you go beyond that you'll realise everything you learned is a European construct fed you as African history.

For example, the term "slave" (which you learned came from Africa) actually came from Slavic republic, in countries like (SLOVakia, SLOVania, YugoSLAVIA). These were the regions in Europe where the first serfs (medieval European name for slaves) were acquired during European slavery days, hundreds of years before Africans heard anything called slave trade. That's why the word slave derive from the there. But they've taught you it was an African practice and you're holding it so tight, not realizing that what you call education was part and parcel of slavery to subdue you forever.

Now you're just sounding nihilistic and overly stupid.

The word "slave" exists in every African language same as "come, go, plate, kick, break, king, God" and other words. Nobody cares the about the origin of the word "slave". It's not pertinent to the discussion at hand.

You obviously have no idea of history for you to call everything European history. It's very depressing someone should reason like this. I mean there are so many African writers who've gone out of their way to present a history of Africa in one form or the other and you are spitting on their efforts.

The mere fact that you're denying that slavery existed in Africa before the coming of the whites and Arabs only presents you as an intellectually redundant person I can't fw you. Only God knows what kind of shit music you write if your IQ is barely 2 digits.

Do me a favour and don't mention me again.

But history will tell you that it is even the black people that sold black people into slavery. If the white people had come and the black people resisted it, they won’t have had their field day. This slavery became a form of entrepreneurship for some set of black people and they gathered some other black people to sell into slavery.

It is sad that this narrative of “black people selling themselves”, which has gained traction within Western academic circles is being perpetuated by blacks— based on an assumption which history in its full context does not support.

Understandably, there would be attempts to revisionise an event as tragic and genocidic as the Trans Atlantic Slave Trade. Anyone strongly linked with that gruesome part of history would certainly look to find a way of riding himself of that history. I recall when this revisionist argument was put forward to Achebe; his reply was succinct; “the white men that were at the shores of Africa, did they come for a summer holiday on the beaches?”

Of course not. They came prepared; guns, metal shackles, bayonets, etc, items you would use to subjugate something which you do not confer similar humanity upon. Items for domination, victimisation and molestation. This they started and found thriving. Vast trading routes were opened up— to Southampton and Liverpool, UK; Portugal; United States and South America. The colonisers, experts at indirect rule, needed to increase their market. It was then that chiefs wee forced to give up and catch the weakest or the most unwanted of their fellow blacks— for money, gold and power as returns.

Chiefs who resisted, like Jaja of Opobo were dethroned and banished, eyes gouged out. Others, seeing that punishment had to comply.

It’s all in history books, if anyone bothers to read. It’s important young blacks own and tell their stories not to be dictates of the revisionists, but to the truth.
In about 100 years time, folks of your leaning, will also say that Nigerians from edo state in particular, who are paying as much as 500k, 1m etc to traffickers, just to risk their lives through Sahara desert and sea, en route to Europe, were enslaved by Europeans.

In 100 years time, the history books will tell of the events that opened up the sex-trade in the EU as it is, hopefully, if it hasn’t been revisionised.

Dumb bitch

She could not condemn her slave master for their involvement in slavery. Although black participated immensely in the slave trade, however, we all know that if there's no demand, there won't be supply.

She's not using her brain.

And its an insult to all back people that there's an advantage from slavery and that is the origination of African Americans and Africans in Britain.

She has a very low IQ. And im so sure she attained her rank so far by speeding her leg to the constituted authority
