This is the résumé of Lukas Yla, a 25-year-old looking for a job in San Francisco. While most résumés are put in a giant stack or rarely read in a cluttered inbox, Yla has changed the game. And the results have been tremendous.

Yla brilliantly designed his résumé inside of a deluxe (and yummy!) box of donuts. Posing as a Postmates delivery man, Yla hand delivers the boxes to recruiters and Tech firms. The box opens to deliciousness but also to Yla's well crafted résumé inside.

Yla noted, "I had 10 interviews so far and I haven't delivered donuts to all the companies I admire and love what they're doing yet"

Recruiters, marketing pros and people in general love this kind of approach, it's something you didn't expect, fun and out of the box."

His tasty idea to set himself apart came after experiencing the fierce competition for tech and marketing jobs in San Francisco.

"I was looking for the most direct way to reach decision makers at the companies. I thought, that I might fail competing only on 'resume' level with other candidates that have work experience in San Francisco." He said.

What do you think of this approach? Do you think this approach can work in Nigeria?

I appreciate that you are trying to say something, but about DHL, you are super wrong. I currently work with DHL and I can say I submitted my cv d same way most people did, and within a month, I was contacted to come for and interview with them. 2 weeks after, I got the job. And I am a 2.2 graduate.... It was all God though, but I know I am super intelligent and DHL doesn't discriminate...

I don't think you got what he/she meant. The poster was trying to say that he/she sent CVs to several other companies using DHL to ensure delivery and spent a lot of money doing so, not that he/she spent money applying repeatedly to DHL.

I can imagine this in Nigeria them go even laugh you ontop...but its a great one there

I did get what she meant. What I failed to say was that though HR in Nigeria may suck, but what I was simply saying is that it may not totally be so especially when u apply to top companies such as DHL. There surely must be certain skill set and experiences different companies look out for and that sometimes we can't effectively blame HR alround

Pardon me jumping into conclusion.... I simply wanted to let u know that HR in Nigeria sucks though, but depends on the company u are applying to Company such as DHL wouldn't discriminate nor would the HR take important aspects of the business(personnel) for granted.... Hope u have gotten a Job now? My apologies if I took your statement out of context
