mandax:
The main Owerri wants Rochas Okorocha from Orlu zone to continue as Imo state governor through his son-in-law from Orlu zone.

Main Owerri adopted Okorocha's son-in-law, Uche Nwosu, as indigene of Owerri to stand for Owerri zone in Imo gubernatorial contest -- to enable Okorocha continue with his task of developing Owerri to 'international standards'. before attention is paid to Okigwe and Orlu by future governors

Rest of Owerri zone wants zoning for equity to be respected to enable an indigene of Owerri zone to succeed Okorocha as governor.

Thus, Owerri which hosts and clutches tightly nearly all the government's development projects in Imo state, still spread its gubernatorial dragnet far and wide.

Who is fooling who?
Being fooled are people from the most politically ignorant, educationally most backward, and the most underdeveloped, but largest senatorial zone in Imo state with the most docile citizens in Africa.

Zoning is extended to distribution of government development infrastructures in a state, not limited to choice of governorship position.

People of Orlu zone struggle more than any group to consider zoning for equity to enable Owerri zone produce the next governor of Imo state.

Your views are so parochial. Obviously, when Rochas and his son-in-law become irrelevant in Imo politics by 2019, you may never have anything else to contribute to this forum.

Being parochial should be attributed to a clan in Imo state which manufactured and embedded into your thick head the falsehood that a state capital must be developed by government more than every other town or local government area in Imo state.

You attack anyone, including yours truly, who guns for spread of govt development infrastructures among the three senatorial zones of Imo state,

not concentrating the infrastructures only in the state capital, Okorocha style;

because as Okorocha concentrated on the state capital, Owerri, his publicists shouted Imo state is developing,
then deceive thick heads like you with Owerri photos that Imo state is developing,

then cart away to private pockets the funds meant to have gone for modernization and development of rest of Imo state outside Owerri. You sing "Imo state is developing," like a zombie.
A decent person, but with a low IQ like yours, could have first disputed any of my takes above, before attribution of parochialism.

You quickly got swayed by your trademark on NL, your trademark of resorting to insulting on anyone who does not glorify Okorocha/Nwosu with their policy of "Owerri is all there is for modernization and development in Imo state."

Beautiful Oguta Ameshi in Oguta LGA of Imo State. Probably the most beautiful and well planned indigenous town in Nigeria.

Imo State is more than just Owerri, Okigwe and Orlu. Less publicity is given to other towns. Oguta is the only town in Igboland with near 100% tarred roads with streetlights in every street and major road. The only challenge is power supply which has been politicized. I throw this challenge open for anyone to prove me wrong.

Oguta LGA is very large in landmass about 1/3rd the size of Lagos but Oguta Ameshi is a developed town inside the LGA and there are also other towns. Oguta is a residential town inhabited mostly by natives and is like GRA of most major cities. I will do a video of the streets

I don't know where u come from, but the real Imo people know that Rochas made significant impact in the state.

Rochas has his failings, but I know for certain that the Imo State of 2011 is not the same as that of 2018.

Where I fault Rochas mostly is in planning. He doesn't plan, but that doesn't mean that Rochas hasn't improved the lots of Imo people

Rochas Okorocha represents Owerri zone because he did nearly every development project of his government in Owerri zone. Check the statistics.

Ancient and modern Grudge against some people in Orlu made Okorocha abandon to near decadence the states 2nd most populated town, Orlu.

No other state in Nigeria has a governor like Rochas Okorocha who sees his state capital as only place worthy of real development infrastructures.

It's turn of Orlu zone now to produce governor for Imo state.

REACHING OUT
Taxify now operates in more African cities than Uber
By Yomi KazeemOctober 8, 2018

Ride-hailing company Taxify is taking the fight for market share in Africa with Uber to places where Uber isn’t.

The Estonian company which has grown to become Uber’s biggest rival in Africa is pursuing an expansion strategy that’s focused on not only operating in major cities across Africa, like Uber does. Taxify has also been expanding to smaller cities and now operates in more African cities than Uber.

In Nigeria, in addition to Lagos and Abuja, the only two cities where Uber currently operates, Taxify has launched operations in Ibadan, Nigeria’s largest city by land size, and Owerri, a bustling commercial center in the southeast. While neither city matches Lagos or Abuja as urban centers, they have sizable business districts and populations of over 1 million people each. In Tanzania, while Uber has stuck only to Dar es Salaam, Taxify operates there as well as in Dodoma, the nation’s capital and in Mwanza, a tourism hotbed on the shore on Lake Victoria.

In South Africa, Taxify continues to compete with Uber in Cape Town, Durban, Johannesburg and Port Elizabeth but has also expanded to Polokwane. It is set to also launch in East London later this month—a move that will see it surpass Uber for the number of African cities operated in. It will also mean Taxify operates more cities in South Africa than anywhere else.

Much of Taxify’s expansion has been bankrolled by its recent $175 million capital raise—a funding round which valued the company at more than $1 billion. Taxify’s backers include Daimler, the German car giant and Didi Chuxing, the dominant ride-hailing business in China which is also known for backing Uber’s rivals elsewhere. As it continues to grow and attempt to win over riders, Taxify’s lower commissions on fares are also a tactic to win over drivers.

For its part, Uber, which has now operated in African cities for five years, is also eyeing more expansion with Rwanda, Ivory Coast, Senegal and Mauritius among potential targets. And showing a willingness to adapt to local markets, it has also introduced lower cost ride-hailing options with rickshaws in Kenya and motorcycles in Uganda.

[FILE PHOTO] Owerri, Imo state

The Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu, yesterday performed the ground breaking of a 5,000 barrel per day (bpd) capacity modular refinery at Ibegwe Flow Station in Ohaji Local Council of Imo State to boost local content and enhance production of petroleum products.
According to him, the facility is to commence production in 18 months and would supply crude to dedicated storage tanks.

At the event graced by captains of industry, including senators Mohammed Dagash and Florence Ita-Giwa, Kachikwu expressed concerns over the future of the nation’s oil sector, disclosing that the President Muhammadu Buhari administration was committed to resuscitating the four refineries.

The oil installation, he noted, was to create employment opportunities for the youths and end militancy in the Niger Delta.

Commending the Waltersmith Refining and Petrochemical Company for identifying with the vision of the government, the minister said the modular refineries nationwide were designed to reduce importation of petroleum products.

Its chairman/chief executive officer, Abdulrazaq Isa, described the event as remarkable, stating that the feat had signalled the entry of the firm into the downstream petroleum sector, which according to him, was part of its vision to becoming a fully integrated energy company determined to contribute meaningfully to Nigeria’s energy security and sustainable programme.

He disclosed that the refinery was the first phase of a larger development, adding that plans were underway to increase its capacity by 30,000bpd to process additional products, including petrol (PMS) and jet fuel.

The Executive Secretary of Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), Simbi Wabote, expressed joy that 10 per cent of local content would be provided by the facility.

Also yesterday, the 6 Division of the Nigerian Army, Port Harcourt said it had uncovered an illegal oil depot, in Rivers State and impounded 16 trucks.

Oga, take several seats. At some point, Chino was sleeping and waking up on this thread. He stopped probably 'cause he has more important things keeping him busy and this thread has been inactive for a long time.

Besides, which state do u come from to tag Imo thread 'useless'? FYI, this thread is informative and is nowhere near
Useless.

What's more? Stop calling people useless because no sane person is. Much as he has his flaws, Abagworo has singlehandedly kept this thread alive. So, he's nowhere near useless either.
