Gallant troops of 22 Brigade Garrison Dikwa supported by vigilantes, on deliberate offensive patrol, infiltrated a BHT camp at Kaltunbare in Borno State on 10 October 2018.

During the encounter 3 BHTs were neutralized while others escaped with gunshot wounds. 2 minors were also rescued. The COAS Lt Gen TY Buratai has commended the gallant troops and urged them to continue carrying out raids,deliberate patrols and attacks to decimate the remnants of BHTs in the North East.

There is adifference between 'urban'and 'gureilla' warfare.

As an example....the USA has been in Afghanistan for over 15 years. Yet to defeat the Taliban....why?

Because...the Taliban are fighting a gurreilla war....a war where they just harry the Army.....take hostages and use them as shields and as means of getting concessions...

Gurreilla warfare....asymetric warfare....is the most easy form of warfare to fight if your opponent outguns you and is stronger than you. Boko knows that if they fight the Nigerian army on the battlefield...they willlose,and lose heavily....and indeed they have. Far better to attack isolated Army posts, isolated schools like Chibok and Dapichi, and isolated villages.

Add the fact that Boko is motivated by ideology. You cannot beat ideology. Same with the Taliban.

This war is going to go on for decades....until Boko gets fed up or until someone gives up.

A crucial aspect of this fight is that the state a d local governments are not doing well by their people. They better start. Same thing in Afghanistan....where the corruption makes Nigerian corruption look like child's play.
