on the contrary you are not. like I said until the CEL reilluminate then Scan if the p0420 is still there then we can solve it.

Normally a tokunbo catalyst isn't advisable because it may also be on extra time. I don't know much about catalyst as I have never had a car with such fault before. just send the pix as said and let find a way forward

This the the undercarriage catalyst. There is another just around the oil filter side you can easily see it from the bonnet. Close to is is an oxygen sensor like a plug with wire.

As mayor said let him check it as all indications point to faulty catalyst. We have the same engine and that plug with wire thing is bank 1 sensor 1 out of the 3 oxygen sensors I have changed that before on mine.

when I scanned it gave me a specific code relating to that oxygen sensor so I am sure you have a faulty or below efficient catalyst converter.

No it wasn't removed today. Close to 6 months. I cnt remembr about d nets but it looked like normal mosquitoe net, not d iron ones o

That's not a catalytic converter my dear. That's just some pieces of wire mesh stocked inside the pot. Let them have a look at what I told you. You should have another just like this pot at the back of your engine. Your mecho is just playing some snake and ladder match here

@nurey, check engine light triggered. Took d vehicle to a reliable panel beating w/shop, the manifold catalytic converter was broken and was blowing air.
Panel beater advised to replace.
Plz wats ur advice, do u suggest new cat or follow come?

You have three options

Tokunbo replacement which may get damage in a week or 10 years time. You can't possibly predict

A brand new replacement which is expensive to procure but can be gotten for you. or

Weld a straight pipe as replacement then in the oxygen sensor location, you will buy a Oxygen sensor defouler weld it to the straight pipe then bolt the O2 sensor to the defouler that way you won't have a DTC code associated with the catalyst removal. The only issue here is pollution of the environment with some heavy metals.

i prefer to go with a replacement to avoid wahala agn.

The tone of your response sounded like you think we are predatory and frankly I'm a little offended if that's the case. Please Google the price of said shocks like you did your catalytic converter first. If I misread the tone, no need to body slam me to get your point across damn! At least your mechanic's diagnosis was correct. It is a catalytic converter.

And FYI. We are not over priced. We are actually fair and the correct prices for original parts with warranties and charge next to nothing for labor and we are still trying to get prices even lower. You're just used to Ladipo and tokunbo.
We have customers coming in with cars like yours who are okay with the pricing and have testimonials they're glad they made the choice after weighing their options.

If not for the environment we are in and tendency of people to take advantage, most of our parts would have lifetime warranties. Over time if people don't take advantage, we WILL go back to lifetime warranties. For now, we'll stick with up to two years. In light of that, do you still think we are over-priced?

Your Catalytic Converter with Integrated Exhaust Manifold is N113k approximately with a two year warranty and your other two cost 59k and 49k approximately respectively. The labor to replace one is N4,000 so there you have it.

I noticed you have about five threads about your car. I also noticed in the beginning two people tried to warn you that you had a lot more yet to do on your car if you weren't careful and offered to give you steps to prevent it but you didn't like hearing that. now you have 4 more threads. A word is enough for the wise.

It's past a year, and my shocks are still functional for the rear while the front is 2years whao.

well you know the saying old things need to pass away and new ones fit in.

Got myself brand new front brake disc and one rear hub, water and road had damaged that. Got my self new brake shoes too for the front, while the rear changed the drum internals for one side, the springs, adjuster and clips were rusted.
