APC Can’t Field Candidates For Zamfara, INEC Insists by newsbook: 6:32am On Oct 12, 2018
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has said that there is no going back on its decision to bar the All Progressives Congress (APC) from fielding candidates for the 2019 general elections in Zamfara State.

INEC’s stand came just as the ruling party which appeared ruffled by the likely fate that may befall it in the 2019 elections in Zamfara State is making frantic effort to sort out things.

This is a real test for INEC knowing the type of agbero Adams oshiomole is who willbtry to bully his way into making INEC change their stand.

The question is why would INEC write a letter stating that APC missed the deadline of submitting the names of their candidates before the deadline? And then APC and oshiomole write back saying the deadline had not reached quoting a date of 18th of October as deadline date. Who knows the deadline date better INEC or APC.

I thought that 18th Oct was actually deadline for presidential only and 7th Oct for state primaries.

If INEC change and accept the nominees from APC would the opposition especially PDP not scream to high heaven that INEC is not n cahoot with APC? And that will also indict INEC for not knowing the deadline date that they set. It will only allow a lot of people believe/confirm inec has been compromised.

INEC will have no choice but to stick to their stand that APC will have no candidates for zamfara or face the wrath of Nigerians concerning that matter.

We dey watch.

INEC has no problem with submission of names deadline which is 18/10. The problem here is deadline for for primary election which is 7/10. Is it not when you conduct primaries before 7th Oct that you can have a list to submit before 18th Oct? APC couldn't conduct any Primary in Zamfara state because of of their differences. INEC was fully on ground and see for themselves how the APC primaries failed in the state.

Now, the tout APC chairman want to submit illegal list. This is why the Chairman of the commission wrote the later for them to be aware. I hope you understand now.

NOTE: submission of names deadline 18/10 is not the problem.

But primaries election deadline 07/10 is the problem here. If you don't beat 07/10 deadline, you can not jump to 18/10 . Requirements of 07/10 must be met before talking about 18 Oct. Thanks

I understand perfectly. It is the agbero method Adams oshiomole wants to use that is irking me.

He wants to change the narrative by twisting the 7th for primaries deadline and 18th date of submission of names just like you rightly said.

That's why I asked who would know the dates better, inec or APC?

I am atikulated ooo.

This one is not a Nigerian. Isn't Buhari a concensus candidate? Wasn't GEJ a concensus candidate? Concenus or not, you would still need a primaries to ratify that.

The nomination of concensus candidates are ratified through a convention, it is INEC law.

Olodo,you do.
Even where you have only one candidate contesting, you still need to do ratification/affirmation primary.
You know, that thing y'all did at ward level and then affirmed in Abuja, for Buhari.
Really,is there a special water you APC bots drink that makes you all so dumb?

there is a provision for substitution of names after the primaries have been conducted.in the cases you mentioned, all PDP need to do is substitute the names of those who stood for the primaries(based on agreements)but in the case of Zamfara,APC did not conduct primaries before the deadline and that is the difference.

Apc should adopt candidates of a particular party in zamfara and deliver them with their structure ,they will in turn decamped to the apc there after.pdp did it in delta house of assembly by-election last year during the makarfi vs sheriff saga.As 4 presidential election, buhari will naturally win zamfara even without a party.
