Hello Nairalanders, am planning to go. On another missionary journey.

I need help based on the following.
I have been to the US with my 1st child who was born in Nigeria, we went on vacation after which I had my 1st missionary baby. I notified the embassy by mail with the change by letter of intent.
During the last travel for the missionary journey, I went alone but my husband later joined me and we came home together with the zero balance letters. My 1st child has not travelled since the vacation and I really wish she goes on this one to boost her visa opportunities.

The issue is i am ready for another missionary baby, our visa were renewed via dropbox in 2016 but we were unable to travel on vacation and I have not notified the embassy of the change since I renewed via Dropbox. I intend to to write them a mail at the embassy stating change of intent, but this is solely based on your advise. Now am ready to go on vacation but am also pregnant. This time, am travelling with my kids while my husband joins us later. I will not be due till early march 2019 but since am having multiples and I have read that they come way earlier than the singles.

My problem is I will be travelling late November with my two kids 5 and 3 while my husband joins me later.
I got a ticket for a one month period because I was confused as to how long the period on the ticket should be. There's no one to keep my kids with while I will be away as I did during the last missionary journey. I intend to extend the period on the ticket, depending on when my babies come. I will be staying with a family member for the period of the journey.

The reason for my early travel in late November 2018
1. I intend to enjoy my vacation before the baby comes while am still strong.

2. The fear of the unknown as to when the babies will arrive.

3. Visas expires in June 2019 and we are yet to use it.
The story of entering the USA with a minimum of 6 month period before the visa expiration date.

Am worried as to what the CBP officers may ask

1. If the date on the ticket is too long- 3 -4 months period - why the kids are taken away for that long out of school.
2. If its too short e.g like a month period till late December. I may be asked why the short period on the ticket, since I am also birthing during the period.

Am so confused. I have made up my mind to say vacation only but what if am given a one month visa like they did to a francophone lady. I need your candid advise.

Kindly advise me on the next step to take as I have read all through but, no one has this same case as mine.

Am not ready to take the risk. Hence, my reason for being here.

Thanks NAIRALANDERS

Thanks

We left the hotel around 11:45 am and got to the airport 15 mins later. Went through immigration which was quite fast, I took the airport train to terminal 3 to connect with my flight to Washington D.C.

My trip to Washington was quite eventful as you can see from the pictures I've posted, so I will go directly to my POE experience and transcript.

Me: Good Morning
CBP: Can you stand over there and face the camera
Me: Yes sir
CBP: Why are you in U.S?
Me: For vacation and shopping
CBP: Is that all?
Me: Yes
CBP: When was the last time you visited the U.S?
Me: Yes 2016
CBP: for what?
Me: Conference
CBP: For how long?
Me: 10 days
CBP: What else are you here for?
Me: Vacation, Tourism and shopping for my family.
CBP: Where do you work and your position at work
Me: Told him
CBP: How long will you stay for?
Me: 14 days
CBP: I mean the day you will leave.
Me: (I was like which kind gbege question be this) I told him

He stamped my passport and said have a great day... ( I think the reason he had enough time with me, was because I was the last person he was interviewing from the 3 international flight that morning)

Guys if your reasons for visiting is without illegal intention and you have nothing to hide, you can visit U.S anytime.

Hello House,

I have a little concern.

During my interview i stated that I will be going to orlando with my family.

But now, we have changed our destination to Houston because we want to Visit NASA space centre.

Is there anything to worry about at POE?

Please I will need your advise on the below.

Two friends are travelling together to arrive Newark, should they both proceed to the CBP officer at POE or they should go to different CBP officers?

Thank you as I await anyone's suggestion.

I am not sure you have anything to worry about at POE

What you should be worried about is Visa renewal or Visa cancellation, there was someone that said Visa was cancelled because the person didnt travel at the said date on the form.

Lets wait for the guru's to respond.

My bro did exactly the same thing and there was no problem... make sure you declare your cash if it's more than $10,000 and also make sure your accommodation is sorted... Have a safe journey.

Did they got the visa together? I mean the visa interview was it together? So far they don't bear the same surname, they must go through immigration separately.

I think that person made a mistake of using his business visa for tourism and at the wrong time. I'm suspecting that won't happen if he was on B1/B2 visa

I just landed in Newark with Asky airlines connected from cote d'ivorie with ethopian airlines. Both flight was good. Asky is a smaller aircraft, but good in flight services. Ethopian airlines i would rate the best african airlines so far. In the spirit of giving back to the house, lemme share my port of entry transcript.....

No much questions was asked.was asked how long I plan staying i said 3 weeks. He now said I'm going to Irvington right?, I replied yes because that was what I filled in the paper at Lagos boarding counter. He now asked again who stays there, family or friend, I told him a childhood friend. He said ok. He asked again how many times have i been to the US, i told him. Meanwhile I was accompanying an elder woman that approached me at los airport she asked to tag along with me since this is her first time travelling and she doesn't know her left nor right.. So me and the woman went to the same counter at once. He asked who the woman was to me. I told him. He said ok. Asked the woman who invited her she said her younger brother. That's all. He now stamped and signed our both passports. And didn't indicate any dates , i now asked one woman that travelled with us too that how come no date on our stamped entry, she said her last visit was the same thing that it was just stamped and she stayed for 5 months before going back and she renewed her visa again with out any issues.

Nice one bro... I noticed that while mine was stamped in, the exit date (6months) was boldly written on my passport page as well.

POE - JFK

I got into a line and was advised to use the kiosk.

A lady helped out and when it got to filling the questions, I chose yes to having food stuff. At this point she mentioned how nice it was that I was honest but in my head I was like "ahhh! Was this a trick question?"

Anyway, I get the proof of registration and I'm directed to a queue. My paper slip had an O on it, while others in the adjoining queue had an X on theirs.

I get to the CBP officer and he takes my passport and asks me, 'Here on holiday?'

I said yes. He stamps me in and I head over to pick my bag.

Super smooth!!

I also experienced this at JFK but checked and saw expected date of exit to be 6months.

You should have no issues.

So we got in, different CBP as advised but she was asked for her return ticket and had to come meet me for it, I followed her back to the officer as i was still waiting on the queue to be called, he also asked about how long I stayed for my previous visit (which was Feb/Mar this year) and he stamped us in right there together.

We entered through Newark without any issues.

Flew Emirates.

Thank you
