Wiseandtrue:is like you are kid, you don't know when Pdp pay double subsidy, they will collect 2.6tr naira from budget to pay fraudsters that import empty vessels and you will still pay 250 naira for scarce petro. Pdp are evil, they were too wicked . |

Wiseandtrue:87 naira? That is a big lie. 87naira was official but nobody ever bought fuel @ 87naira, it was always above 87naira couple with scarcity. |

YoungLionken:1) The reason why the economy is down is the fall of oil price per gallon/ barrel globally especially in the year 2015. There was less revenue from oil products which equals bad economy which is not fully Buhari fault. Today is barely above $75 per gallon 2) By the time Buhari entered office, oil per barrel was less than $50 which was not good for any OPEC countries economically. You can read about Venezuela at https://www.bbc.com/news/world-latin-america-36319877 3) I blame bad management by our government especially PDP who had the chance to turn things around. Oil prices per gallon was high from 2010 to 2014 and there was huge revenues from oil . 3) The Nigerian bad economy is a result of massive looting of national money and corruption in a grand scale. The money meant to be saved for famine was looted and nothing was left by the time Buhari and APC took over. 4) If Nigeria do not tackle corruption now, Nigeria will become the next Sudan or worse. How can a country go forward when 20 billions dollars or more unreported disappeared during Sanusi's time in Central Bank of Nigeria and there was no massive protest. Only few are arrested and many of the same politicians are campaigning to get elected again. 6) Our Naira devalue because there was no money in the federal reserve by the time Buhari got elected. Nothing was saved, all the money were spend by numerous governors, senators, and gone. 7) Buhari unfortunately happened to be in power when Nigeria economy is at worst at the year 1984 and 2015 which is a bad signs. Many of the elected politicians are not patriotic and could careless about Nigeria e.g. They are only after the pockets, and ambitions. Do you know that Nigeria senators are among the highest paid in the world. Do you honestly believe Saraki is not corrupt and many more in the legislative branch are doing good job representing the average Nigerians. If the money that goes to Nigeria senate is cut by half, it can help reduce the current level of unemployment by a huge margin. |

I don't think if we can ever have a govt as useless as this again, in buhari's words "i don't know what subsidy is" yet he keeps on paying more than we have ever paid before without even budgeting for it. My spirit, soul and body are tired of this govt. |

These guys are burning through cash since they dont want to submit to market forces. They want strong currency and want low oil prices. The issues with Nigerian economy are structural. They need refining and manufacturing capacity, allowing currency to float, stop multiple exchange rates. It gets boring rattling off same suggestions everyone knows they arent interested in. |

cooltola:its interesting how people keep saying oil prices were high during GEJ's time & how he didn't save. these same people never say that as from 2011/2012, the us , the major buyer of Nigerian crude, drastically reduced its crude import. https://www.eia.gov/todayinenergy/detail.php?id=5770 http://www.thisdaylive.com/articles/obama-we-don-8217-t-need-energy- from -africa/151925/ from 1.3m bpd (out of 2.2m bpd produced) imported from nigeria in 2011, it reduced this to 600,000 bpd by 2012 & almost zero bpd by 2014. http://www.fahamu.org/ep_articles/emerging-and-existing- oil -and-gas-opportunities-in-sub-saharan-africa/ http://allafrica.com/stories/201412220407.html http://www.thescoopng.com/2014/06/05/ us - stops-importing-nigerian-crude- oil / by 2016, us started buying Nigerian crude oil again in commercial quantities... http://punchng.com/ us -increases- imports-of-nigerian- oil -by-287/ https://www.vanguardngr.com/2016/04/ us -importing- nigeria-crude- oil / by the time pmb got into office, the GEJ administration had done a lot of ground work to get new markets for nigeria's crude, so pmb did not suffer the loss of buyers as much as GEJ's administration. mind you, GEJ had to contend with higher crude oil prices, keeping the exchange rate low & paying subsidy on fuel at premium prices... pmb had lower prices, more market share for crude, let the exchange rate burden be borne by Nigerians & increased fuel prices despite the lower crude oil prices. so in essence, GEJ never really enjoyed the increased crude oil prices & it is past time that the records be put straight... |

Omooba77:the last time i checked, common man in Nigeria has be suffering for long, it does not start today. Even people that have not see 2000 naira before are be paid 5,000 naira monthly. You have not answered my question why 112m people were extremely poor despite receiving $400b in 4yrs and $1.1tr in 16yrs of Pdp according to OPEC report without a single project. Buhari has reduced the number of poverty from 112m to 80m despite receiving $94b in 3yrs according to OPEC report. |
