Honestly we leave in a very complicated society to be governed. It's difficult to make such decisions sometimes. I remember when the first set and other set of chiboks girls where released people/citizens criticized and shouted that they've paid BHT millions for them to have been released. Has if those girls where not human being or because it wasn't there daughters involved.

Now the media is even making it worst; because they don't give full details of such stories. These girl was executed because of her faith and BHT vowed not to receive any amount in exchange for her release simply because of her faith.

Now people come here and talk what they don't know, do you think the government that negotiated the release of most Chinook girl is just folding her hands doing nothing, there is no perfect country.

Quite number of the Chinook girls where executed in horrible ways before there release. the media kept quite

How many girls, boys and innocent people have been execute and will be .... huh
lai Mohammed said the government tried their best in getting her freed.
Well sha, if she was my family member, I will want the government to do anything in securing her released including paying boko haram.
But one of the reason she was killed by boko haram was because of apostasy.

But when will boko haram wahala end for Nigeria sef, the way I'm looking at it,this war might not even be over by 2020.

THE BASTARDS EXECUTED THIS GIRL FOR HER CHRISTIAN FAITH. WHY IS THIS NOT INNTHE NEWS? There are times I honestly believe this nation is cursed. Its really hard to stay patriotic sometimes. The government don't seem to care. Nigeria has to be one of the easiest place to die. The death of Liman should put the nation in mourning. The flag should be flown at half mast and Lima should be considered a National Hero. Nobody gives a Bleep !! I prayed for her last night. The government is more focused on election campaign. I cannot imagine the magnitude of grief that her family will be going through.

Rest in peace Lima.
You are right to be outraged, but no she was not a Christian. In fact, she was a Muslim, wears hijab and that was her crime. They sentenced her to death for apostasy. These BHTs 'khafara' any Muslims that do not buy their ideology.
The Christian girls with them are alive, and I believe they will keep them alive.

Again, I agree the government has a lot to do, and I am particularly angered by the official response to captured BHT commanders. Why do we keep them so as to release when bargaining is ripe? After yesterday, I dont think its right for the government to negotiate with BHTs anymore.

Apt Sir Ola, I wanted to reply exactly your first paragraph but I remembered the moniker you replied is a skewed commentator here.

The government has a lot to do in response to the atrocities BH commit. Is there not a list of the top BH leaders we've apprehended? Sentence a few to death after any atrocity is committed, prepare choice target to be raided, harassed and decimated etc etc.

This administration has had a track record of bad PR/Dirty Propaganda hence people barely give a damn what they say.

IMHO you could just paste the Name,Rank, Source and pic.

The Army need to borrow a leaf from Pakistan & India on the subject of combat casualty.

Praise their martyrdom & immortalizing them instead of the usual lies & downplay of things.

My brother a lot is wrong with how we are handling these BHTs. I read a document this morning re: infightings inside BHT camps. Surely, Nigerian government is privy to steady Intel on regular basis. They can do a lot more! But the fact that people are 'making it' from this terrorism, means uinfortunately, it will not end soon. BHTs know this and are acting on it.
We are in a pretentious democracy, where we pretend to be democratic by tearing down democratic institutions. If I was in charge, BHT propagandas will never make it out of their enclave in Sambisa.

What reality do you live in? If it was Obasanjo's daughter? smh. There is a reason why certain people have security detail, chances are such individuals won't find their loved ones in such situation, that's a given the world over.
And why should anyone resign? Who resigned over the random bombings in Europe or the few ones in the US?
And why on earth are you comparing our military capabilities to that of more powerful countries. Again, deal with reality, we are not the US.
I never said things are good, but think about the idea of negotiating with terrorists, the moment you give in to their demand, they know your soft spot and all they have to do is kidnap more people and make more demands, while they are using that same frequent ransom money to buy arms and the bloodshed will only be prolonged. If that's your idea, then good luck with that.
It's easy for the loved ones of such captive to be willing to give 1 billion dollars just to get their loved ones back, but officials who have to make that decision won't feel the same way, because at the end of the day, they must remain objective and not act based on emotion.
It's a sad situation to be in, i feel for her, unless this war is wrapped up, many more will unfortunately follow.
And perhaps the military should do more in restricting where certain aid workers go, i believe she was an aid worker or something.
Situation like this, is where media usually step in, honor such a person, show her pics to the world, her life, what she did while she was here and how she risked her life to help others. I bet that would make BH mad, coz at the end of the day, she was far stronger than they could ever be
BabaOwen:
Yes, I want the government to negotiate with terrorist and if possible pay them money to release her.

So if it was buhari or osinbanjo daughter that was kidnapped, the government won't pay for her to be released?

Nigerians will always find an excuse for everything, why can't Nigeria be as peaceful as Senegal, Benin republic, Namibia,Botswana etc they will always find a stupid excuse to give about how it's happening in other failed countries like Libya, Yemen etc nonsense angry

If it was in an European country, the prime minister would have resign,it can't even happen in such countries for terrorist to be operating in their territory.Nigeria is in the league of Somalia and Afghanistan.

Both are Unmanned Aerial vehicles.

But one is designed specifically for combat UCAV; Unmanned combat aerial vehicle ie; they carry munition. While the other UAV; Unmanned aerial vehicle is a non-combat drone.

Another key difference will be attachment of Rank
Nigeria is one of five nations that have documented the use of an armed UAV in ANGER It is most likely that the sanction would require the assent of at least the assent of a One Star General because of the high risk for COLLATERAL DAMAGE.

REMARKS BY THE COAS ON THE COMMISSIONING OF CYBER OPERATIONS CENTRE OF NACWC ON 15 OCT 18

---

4. In view of the aforementioned, and in line with my vision for the NA which is to have Professional Responsive Nigerian Army in the Discharge of its Constitutional Roles, the NA decided to establish the Nigerian Army Cyber Warfare Command to empower the NA with the capabilities to protect our data/network against cyber attacks and hostile elements. The Cyber Operations Centre would also enable robust online presence so as to fight fake news targeted at the Army with counter narratives and cyber operations. Therefore, you must equip yourselves with digital forensics capabilities and be able to handle cases of identity theft and generate immediate incidence response. Furthermore, I encourage you to routinely survey the dark web/darknet and carry out analysis that may help the NA to be proactive in the cyber realm.

7. Good luck.

Again, another mention of JF-17 Thunder.
CAPACITY DEVELOPMENT: CAS WINGS ANOTHER COMBAT PILOT
The Chief of the Air Staff’s quest to re-professionalise the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) through capacity building initiatives has received a further boost with the winging of another young NAF combat pilot, Flying Officer Salihu Ibrahim Usman, who recently completed his Basic Fighter Introduction Course in the United States of America (USA). The investiture, which took place today, 16 October 2018, at the Chief of the Air Staff’s (CAS) Conference Room, Headquarters (HQ) NAF, has brought to 91 the total number of pilots winged within the past 3 years. This is besides the 67 NAF officers who are currently undergoing flying training in various flying institutions both within and outside the country. It is therefore expected that by this time next year, the total number of new pilots would reach an unprecedented 158 in just 4 years. More remarkably, among the 67 student pilots, is the first female NAF student fighter pilot, who is currently undergoing Specialized Undergraduate Pilot Training (SUPT) in the USA, as well as another female student pilot, who is undergoing helicopter training in South Africa to become the first female helicopter pilot in the NAF.

While speaking during the winging ceremony, the CAS, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, expressed delight to receive the pilot back from the USA and congratulated him for his outstanding performances during the SUPT and Basic Fighter Introduction Courses. He stated that the officer's exceptional results on the various courses came as no surprise given his pedigree in emerging best graduating NAF Cadet in his course at the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) and also performing extremely well during the Initial Officer Training (IOT) Course at the Royal Air Force College, Cranwell United Kingdom (UK). He noted that these were, no doubt, evidences of the officer’s hard work, dedication and determination to succeed. While urging the officer to sustain this level of commitment to duty, the CAS remarked that the young pilot was returning to the country at a time when the NAF, with the kind support of the Federal Government, was about to receive additional combat platforms in the shape of the A-29 Super Tucano and JF-17 Thunder Multi-Role Fighter. He remarked that these new platforms would improve NAF’s ability to more effectively respond to national security imperatives. Air Marshal Abubakar therefore advised the young officer to apply his newly acquired knowledge and skills to add value to the counter terrorism operations in the Northeast as well as ongoing operations in other parts of the country with a view to contributing his quota to the successes so far recorded.

The newly winged pilot was admitted into the NDA in August 2010 as a member of 62nd Regular Combatant Course, where he obtained a degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. As the best Air Force Cadet in his course, he was nominated for IOT Course, at the Royal Air Force College, Cranwell UK after which he was commissioned into the NAF as a Pilot Officer. Thereafter, Flying Officer Usman was nominated for the SUPT where he earned the United States Air Force Silver Wing. Upon successful completion of the SUPT Course with outstanding performance, the USAF found him worthy of recommendation for the Basic Fighter Introduction Course. He has a total of 265 flying hours on the Cessna 172, T-6A and T-38C aircraft types.
