Most times downtown cities or city centers do not have the space for vegetation but in Europe and America they clean them up to something decent though absolutely concrete. Okorocha recently demolished added shops and cleared Douglas Road in center of Owerri for urban renewal which I find commendable despite all criticisms it has met. Beyond the usual shenanigans I expect the outcome not to be anything typical Nigerian. He should borrow a leaf from this picture and make sure the entire space between the houses and the road are converted to wide walkway with colourful interlocking and few trees wherever they can fit in. Other Igbo cities should also do same. 3 Likes

My advise to my Igbo brothers about 2019 election is to keep quite and watch the political moves in the country and align ourselves properly. Our major problem is that we think highly of our individual selves forgetting that Nigeria is not about us alone, our votes alone cannot win us any National post, so we must learn to liaise with other tribes to push our cause in this Nation. The reactions that trails the selection of Mr Peter Obi as Atiku running mate has shown that we are yet to get into what National politics is all about. 2019 election is battle of the North's we must be quite, calculative and seize this opportunity as the old war lords has seen the need to compensate the Igbos. 2 Likes |

Xander85:Apart from the bridge being too low, notice how the earthen embankment ran to the middle of the river. Ordinary a bridge has to take off on dry ground while the water is still far away but these people sand filled to the middle if the river before starting the actual bridge 1 Like |
