Married to Taiwo Taofeeq, SHITTA-BEY said “I came to Canada on January 30, 2018 with my son and step daughter, because our lives were in danger in Nigeria. I have been falsely accused of being a witch by my husband’s family and they are demanding that I and my children undergo cleansing rituals which is against our beliefs as Muslims.’’ In a save our soul (SOS) letter sent to the authority, she stated that ‘’my husband and I have pleaded with is family that my children and I are not involved with witchcraft but they refused to listen to our pleas. “my husband hails from a traditional family while I was born to devout Christian parents. I came to Canada on January 30, 2018 with my son and step daughter. Because our lives were in danger in Nigeria. I have been falsely accused of being a witch by my husband’s family and they are demanding that me and my children undergo cleansing rituals which is against our beliefs as my husband and I have pleaded with his family that my children and I were not involved with witchcraft, but they refused to listen to our plea.

Please help save us; my name is Olawunmi Ayinka Shitta-Bey and I am married to Taiwo Taofeek Shitta-Bey. Taiwo and I got married on March 23, 2001. Just days after, our son was born. My husband has three children which we treat them as if they were our own. My husband hails with and we raised all of them as if they were our own. My husband hails from a traditional family while I was born to devout Christian parents.

My parents were not very rich so they could not send me to post-secondary school when I heard this I was so disappointed that I dropped out in my second school and started helping my mother with the house. However, when I met my husband I converted to Islam because he was muslim.

Taiwo came from a well known family and he had his own money so after we met and decided to get married he insisted that I stay home to look after the young ones. I was not educated and all I had done was some trading so I happily stayed home to care. From a Christian home and because they felt like I was liked because I came from a Christian home and because they never really good enough to marry him considering I was from a poor family and did not have formal education, but taiwo loved me regardless.

When my step daughter reached 13 years or so, she started having dreams that were very clear to her and she remembered them in detail. After a few dreams, I came to realize that whatever she dreamt had significance or came to pass, for example she dreamt of her father was injured in a car and a few days later he was involved in a very bad car accident but he was unhurt.

In another dream, she dreamt that her aunty was going to win a lottery and she did win a prize in a raffle. Within our home, we teased her about these dreams, but we always told her not to tell anyone outside the family because people can be very superstitious and I did not want anyone saying negative things about my step daughter.

My step son abdullahi came to Canada to study in 2014, his father traveled with him to... continue reading here>> https://www.yourtotalneeds.com/2018/10/18/family-accused-of-witchcraft-cries-out-for-help/
