Believe33:you have a point sha but then, everyone to his own I personally don't want my kids having any connection to Nigeria And when my parents die? my own connection to Nigeria is also severed (for some reason, they still want to remain in Nigeria, good for them) One has to look at things before leaping |

Believe33:You have said it all like I said, it’s not all about the goodies. It’s just like asking old parent to come and live abroad, no matter the amenities it will be like a dungeon. |

Taofeekdboy:Lol see story. You're not coming back anything, stop forming patriotic. Why did you leave in the first place ? Abeg let's hear. |

Jabo1000:bros, there is more to life than money... Your sanity and longevity is being threatened in Nigeria by the second. I am business minded. I love to make money and I have a project I am on now that can put over 100M in bank if all indices are aligned but there is more to life than money. I will advice you take little steps to travel outside Nigeria, starting with some good progressive African countries and you will see we have a long way to go. There is more to life than money bro. |

| Re: 7 M Annual Income Or Move To Canada by abbyode(m): 6:02am On Oct 21, 2018 |
If you understand what standard of living is, you will not think twice before you relocate to Canada. Leaving out poverty mentality aside, N7M per annum is not a big deal. More importantly, the best investment you can give your kids is a world class education. My two cents, pack your bags and move to Canada. |

maternal:I don’t know why it is hard for some people to comprehend, forming patriotism or not, have made my plan even before stepping out the country. So any one that travel out Nigeria is now an enemy of the country..smh. Always castigating people that travel out even without knowing their intention, you owe me no explanation if you cannot reason with me. |

Jabo1000:it's the same thing for millennial too There is too much foolishness in Nigeria for an average upwardly mobile globalist millennial to deal with in Nigeria But then, most Nigerians still got their mentality messed up so........ so the old are used to what is there in Nigeria and may not want to leave, but at the same time, so many millenials feel like a fish out of water in Nigeria many of you might not get it, but those who do, actually get it. |

abbyode:true that tho many who thought they were solid and all (fooling themselves with the few millions they have) prior to to 2015/2016 got the rug pulled off their feet due to the massive job losses and useless policies of that old fool we have in aso rock now now to get a job of that level was very hard, and for the business men, the dollar impasse killed of many of them Many have been rendered destitute in a very short time ![]() And the worst part is when this happens, you are done for because the govt don T give a Bleep about you, nor do safety nets exists to take care of you Then as for their kids going to over prices sub standard schools, they can no longer meet up with the exorbitant fees, so they have to withdraw them A lot of people here never see some thing ![]() but it's okay, everyone has his choice to make. but if I'm the op, you better leave the $hithole, especially if you don't have kids yet |

Mcslize:@Bolded, no where is safe in this world. Last two weeks, a boy named Timothy oyebola was killed by bullet in NYC when I was on vacations. This will not be on their news. Also, like 4 to 5 girls are missing in the same NYC. @OP, please follow your mind. I have been to most part of these countries and the standard of living is good but if you have good thing you are doing in Nigeria I don’t see any reason for you to relocate. To anyone that care to listen: Nigeria is not a shithole. If you call Nigeria a shithole so shall it be for you and the rest of your family still living in the country. Stop the negativity. Our leaders are bad!!! we all know that but your negativity would not heal the country either. |
| Re: 7 M Annual Income Or Move To Canada by Taofeekdboy(m): 9:34am On Oct 21, 2018 |
Akorkor:thank you very much, that’s what I’m saying; if you have anything good doing in Nigeria, just stay back and don’t think of relocating because things might not work the way you want over there... I’m not trying to mock the dead but there was a thread here about someone that traveled to Khasastan and couldn’t make it over there, committed suicide. All the people telling you to not think twice will reject you when things go south. I’m not against any one traveling for greener pasture but if you are doing better thing at home, don’t just take the assumptions from your friend and hop in to the plane. |

ahiboilandgas:I will give opinion on the second part. If I were to get a 7m offer, I will not relocate to Nigeria from either of those 2 countries. Relocating to Canada or Ireland, I have been told people with bigger salaries relocate to Canada. Relocating is not only for financial reasons, securing a better future for family, quality of living etc has to be considered as well. I will move my family to either of those 2 countries for the aforementioned reasons. |

ahiboilandgas:There are indeed homeless people in Canada. I once saw a lady sleeping in a trash bin in minus degree temperature. I asked why she didn't go to the homeless shelter, her reply: there was a waitlist. The bin gave off heat and protected her from cold wind. However, I doubt you would find PRs being homeless. They land with settlement funds, and if not lazy, they can pick up a temporary surivival job to at least cover feeding and shared rental unit. |

Akorkor:Nigeria and indeed most countries in the developing countries bracket are $hitholes there is no need to sugar coat it if one who has an slowpoke as a brother is told that he has an slowpoke as a brother, no lie was told. I think we need to be truthful to ourselves among other nationalities I try to defend and pancake things (like I always do) but then, among us Nigerians we need to tell ourselves the truth |
| Re: 7 M Annual Income Or Move To Canada by overseasnbeyond: 7:54pm On Oct 21, 2018 |
ahiboilandgas:What you earn should not be a major factor for relocation but the kind of life you want to live cum the future you want your children to be. Ire oooo |
| Re: 7 M Annual Income Or Move To Canada by frostmate2: 8:24pm On Oct 21, 2018 |
ahiboilandgas:Yah agreed. But that will be very unlikely to happen. |

ahiboilandgas:It's usually self inflicted or the person is on drugs. Either way, it's self inflicted. You have to be extremely useless to be in that situation. |

There are immigrant PhD holders, doctors, MSc holders who engage in unskilled jobs in Canada and every other western country. If you earn as much as 7 million/year in Nigeria, you are equal to what the average 'upper class' earn overseas. I would advice you take a few months of leave, travel and see things for yourself. If you really want to migrate, try to ensure you migrate directly into a job that you are already qualified in. Don't get sucked into the rat race of engaging in unskilled low pay jobs, you are much better than that. If you do emigrate and work within your profession, you could earn $100,000/year. You will be taxed at circa 40%. You will pay rent/mortgage on whatever is left of it. If you factor in family expenses, car expenses etc, you will end up with a pittance to save every month. That's when you will remember that the N7 million/year you earned in Nigeria offers you a better quality of life than someone who earns $100,000/year overseas. The only advantage overseas offers for people who earn that much in Nigeria is security of life. |

claremont:Well said. Because in Nigeria everything is free. You'd be able to save more there. |

ahiboilandgas:Of course, stay in Nigeria for N7M / year. It's a no brainer but then I stay in the US not Canada or Ireland. |
| Re: 7 M Annual Income Or Move To Canada by Lamide123: 2:44am On Oct 22, 2018 |
naijaman3:You guys need to let him know that Canada is not like before any more. Is the man going with visitor visa or going there with a resident card. I am not here to discourage him but the papers issue in abroad these days are tough. He needs paper to work. He can live well in Nigeria with 7 million than CAD $25000 because you have to factor in expenses like rent and government taxes. |
