Arik Air has announced the resumption of flight operations to Osubi Airport, Warri with effect from Friday, October 26, 2018 following the reopening of the airport closed on September 3, 2018 by Nigeria Airspace Management Agency (NAMA).

The airline, according to its chief executive officer, Captain Roy Ilegbodu, was pleased to welcome passengers back on the Lagos-Warri and Abuja-Warri routes with a promise of on-time departures and great customer experience.

Arik Air operates two daily flights from Lagos to Warri and one flight from Abuja to Warri. All the flights into Osubi are resuming same day.

Meanwhile, aviation professional body in the country, Aviation Round Table and Safety Initiative (ARTSI) had condemned the closure of Warri Airport due to high navigational charges by the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA).

In an official statement signed by one of the key members of the group, Olu Ohunayo, ARTSI stated that they were of the opinion that the airport be certified by NCAA to operate scheduled flights and its tariffs approved accordingly in line with Nigeria Civil Aviation Regulations ( NCARs ).

The group added that there should have been an agreement between NAMA and the operators of Warri airport on tariffs before the deployment of Air Traffic Services.

They won't crash. Planes crash all over the world once in a while. Do you know thousands of planes fly daily all over the world and how many times do we hear of plane crash? Over 102,465 flights per day. Arik and Peace are my favorites in 9ja.

Fashola dat I used to respect told them in the west that they should vote PMB so that power can return to SW, he spoke lyk a stark illiterate the last time he came to Uniben, infact I was disappointed, this is somebody who is a principal legal practitioner. Why= No tangible project to boast of... APCheat is indeed wise.

Good one but the challenge is the timing of WRI - ABUJA and Back.

Most travellers like morning flights. For a business oriented person, 1340 Warri to Abuja, the day is gone already before you even arrive.

And it is the same with Abuja to Warri, You cannot even do anything that day.

I suggest Arik should look at the timing because is not good for business minded individuals.

Hmmmm.... You guys will fail as usual. Your bone ear won't allow you, people, to learn from your previous mistakes. I can bet/gamble with you that Atiku will never win.

Since June, Arik has refused to refund my gate from Warri to Abuja and there are others in this same boat. I have reported to the CPC, yet nothing. These guys are fraudsters. They are using people's money to do business.
