Reading the comments, I began to wonder whether most of the comments might have been different if the actor was Igbo and not Yoruba

It appears people are now adjudged good, bad, successful etc based on their tribe by a particular section of the country, or am I the only one who has noticed this trend? Even the international awards given by non Nigerians are not spared when they recognize anyone outside of this particular tribe. It’s the same story all the time and frankly it is sickening as there seem to be a consensus that they can never see anything good in others ( I stand to be corrected; perhaps it’s just on Nairaland).

If my observations are correct, is it healthy that everyone follows suit with this mindset? I mean we may as well just make it the norm.

P/S
I believe BRF’s recent political statements may have been gingered by this realization. We all seem to be getting there gradually!

Nairaland is full of tribalists... Both young and old are all tribalistic... Smh
