So he should abandon all the projects because he didn't start them or he should neglect the uncompleted projects and start his own project that he may not finish? As he done anything wrong completing the projects he met on ground? I don't understand your point o!
No. The Erats are making it look like nothing was on ground until Buhari came in. Like Bubu came in and buikt on his own blueprint. Are these supposed to be the things to campaign with? If not for our backward way of reason. Aren't we entitled to these things as they are basic humans needs.
Much of the US campaign is always about economy, security, and social security for the people.
These things arw suppose to be our right but the BMCs makes it look like APC is doing us a favor. This is sad.

I still maintain my stand that buhari remain that best president in this country with policies and its implementation in all ramification,is it in agriculture, road construction/rehabilitation,in empowerment (N-power programme), bailouts fund, paying defunt Nigeria air workers etc.his performance are countless and jawbreaking.

Fashola himself said there are many uncompleted road projects on ground. There is no point initiating road projects when there are uncompleted projects. They need to work with what they met on ground. We should not encourage govt to abandon project they don't initiate.

Are you sure that you know what you are talking about

If u were to give credits it will definitely not be to Jonathan because those rail projects list above were originally planned and designed to be a standard gauge by OBJ but due to funds he (OBJ) redesigned it to a narrow gauge

But when Yar'Ardua took over, he insisted on a standard gauge and ordered the review of all the projects which was concluded in late 2009.

GEJ was supposed to award the contracts of Lagos - Kano rail project since all the paperwork, planning and designed were concluded by Yar'Ardua before his death.

Jonathan did not initiated any railway projects rather he only awarded Abuja - Kaduna rail projecs and Abuja liggt rail. Yet for 5 years he didn't complete any of them despite the huge resources at his disposal. Not even the less than 60km Abuja light rail project.

Between January and June this year, the Federal Government generated a total amount of N1.16bn from the rail transportation system.

The figure was contained in a report on the railway sector, which was prepared by the National Bureau of Statistics.

The N1.16bn, according to the report, was generated from two main revenue sources.

These were passengers, from whom a total amount of N849.01m was generated during period; and cargoes from which about N310.36m was earned.

A breakdown of the N849.01m revenue showed that the sum of N435.96m was generated from passengers in the first quarter of this year, while the balance of N413.05m came in during the second quarter.

From the transportation of cargoes, the report stated that the government generated N159.08m in the first quarter, while the second quarter recorded N151.28m as revenue.

The report read in part, “Revenue generated from passengers in Q2 2018 was put at N435,965,777 as against N413,057,019 in Q1 2018.

“Similarly, revenue generated from goods/cargo in Q2 2018 was put at N159,079,963 as against N151,279,394 in Q1 2018.”

Further breakdown of the performance of the sector showed that 730,289 passengers travelled through the rail system in the second quarter of this year as against 748,345 passengers recorded in the first quarter.

This represents a decrease of 2.41 per cent during the period under review.

Similarly, the report noted that 85,816 tonnes of goods/cargoes travelled through the rail system in the second quarter as against 79,750 tonnes recorded in the first quarter.

The Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, had recently said the Federal Government was subsidising railway transportation, adding that the development was making the government to lose about N40m monthly in revenue.

He stated, “We are still under pressure to have more locomotives and more coaches because more people are now using the rail. But you know typical Nigerians, they like free things.

“We spend N56m per locomotive, and we get N16m. If we increase it (the fare), you will start abusing us. But you see, it is subsidised. So, the government is subsidising you.”

Another four years of continuing what PDP initiated without his own projects
yes, and that is far more better than another 4yrs of more projects initiated without completing any. since 60s and 70s all we have had in this country is numerous projects initiated and abandoned by the successive govts, so 8yrs for a govt that deem it right to complete those projects isn't too much.

when you say someone did nothing and come back and say you are completing the persons projects doesn't it contradict itself?.... If I did nothing then why are you completing the nothing that I did?... Meanwhile this railway project was designed to last for 25 years.... So even with two tenures from Buhari and Jonathan, it would have outlasted their tenures and maybe their lifespan on earth self...

In fairness to PDP...they did start the railprojects...and completed some before they left power in 2015.

It is very good to see APC continuing with the projects though....we need railways.

Completed some......

Please give us a list.

Don't forget some of these projects started from the military era.

[s]was it not your current minister of transportation that echoed to the whole country that he didn't know railway existed while he was riding one at that time? Maybe you should ask him na. The only new thing here is Lagos Ibadan railway which is a narrow gauge , in 2018[/s]!

I don't think so

If Jonathan actually completed the projects as u claimed; why didn't he commissioned it before handing over to Buhari?

If he completed it; why do Buhari's govt had to release funds for the same projects?

We all knew that Jonathan will not leave the projects he started and compleed for Buhari to commission
