Hello nairalanders Want to buy a new phone? You are at the right place. The temptation to buy a flagship is real and can lead to hell if you don’t really need it. Just get something you need and thank me later. But how do you know what you need? Don’t worry.i have experiences to help. I have sampled the basic things you should consider when buying a new phone. let's countdown.

BATTERY
This is one of the most critical parts.Smartphones come with a lot of functions that affect their batteries. However, most smartphone producers have done their best to ensure that their batteries last longer. So if you are an average smartphone user, you can go for a phone that has at least 3000mAH. But if you like to go heavy with your usage, don’t go for a phone that has less than 4000mAH. This will help you go the whole day with a single charge.

Consider buying a phone that has the quick charging feature too. This comes in handy when you are in the hurry and still need that phone charged to a manageable percentage.

RAM
A phone that can help you perform more functions at the same time without having to freeze is always better. Go for a phone that has at least 2GB RAM. If you like gaming with your phone and performing a lot of graphic functions, go for 3GB RAM and above.

CAMERA
Several specifications such as camera aperture, ISO levels, pixel size, autofocus and more are essential and not just the pixels. So check the other features when going for a phone because of its camera, and not just the number of pixels.

MEMORY CAPACITY
Most phones now do not come below 16GB. However, I’ll advise that you go for a phone that has 32GB memory if you love to save a lot of stuff on your phone. Majority of the phone space in 16GB smartphones are used to save the device’s settings and OS. Therefore, going for 32GB means more space for your pictures and many more. For flagships, the new standard is 64 GB.

Even if the phone doesn’t have enough memory, check if the device has an SD slot to help you expand its memory with an SD card instantly.

Chipset: the two most popular chipset is those from mediatek and snapdragon. the best chipset is the bionic chipset which is that of apple iPhone. Samsung have their exynos and Huawei have their kirin cpu.
Mtk(mediatek) cpu is the cheapest more than 50% of android phones use mtk chipset they employ a third party GPU makers Mali for their GPU so their cpu and GPU are a lil bit not in sync. Though I won't lie I prefer snapdragon to mtk.
Snapdragon chipset is the best value for money to me cause they are an actual chipset with their cpu and GPU(adreno gpu) and some other stuff in a single chip.
For a normal user to me anything with a clock speed less than 1.5ghz is a No-no and less than 550mhz is a no.. But a gamer like me I can't use anything less than 2.0ghz and 700mhz for the gpu.

Screen resolution: this is just the quality of display of the phone it is directly proportional to the number of pixels in the phone and inversely proportional to the size of the screen of the phone. It is usually gotten by the ppi anything less than 400ppi is a No.. Anything less than fhd is a No to me sha.

And value for money, it's self explanatory, why will u buy a phone for 40k when u can get a better one for 30k
That's why I will rather throw away my money than by these infinix and tecno that is a waste of money. U guys can mention if u need recommendation when getting a new phone.. so this is my lil addition to ur post op

get the coolpad cool1 3gb ram version I'm currently using the 4gb version.. It's sweet in playing games and has 4060mah batt.. It can tk me full day with normal use and 4-5hrs in high games like pubg mobile and 10hrs on non stop browsing.

can you install apps into memory card? What about app data, cache and other residual files that you can't be able to clear? All these slows down the phone and cause intermitent lagging and hanging
