It is a generalisation, because people from all walks of life are gamers, we can't all be racist misogynistic garbage.

How can someone even hate games? I mean how can drinking, smoking, addictive movie/sports watching, be considered normal ways of life and gamers are still the weird ones, i don't get it.

Gaming is an easy target because compared to heavy drinkers and sports fans, we are very few and on average, we're younger, if gaming ever becomes mainstream more people will accept it and not base their opinions on stereotypes. Gaming is currently more productive than watching TV or sports, there are many professional gamers and due to how interactive gaming is, it's a good way to make friends online who can play with you.

But, i see memes and lots of gamers confirmed that they'd rather play games than hang out and that girls are distractions blah blah, so wanted to know if it's the same with Naija men

In Nigeria we have few hard core gamers like what u describe, not close to what u have abroad, because;
No constant power
Gaming rigs (even consoles and games) are expensive to buy n build
Poverty will not allow us to be anti-social
Nerds and geeks are hard to come by here

Abroad its not hard to see boys who own 2 consoles (a ps4 & xbox even plus wii) then also own a pc and multiple screens. Internet is cheap light is constant, you can choose to lock yourselve out of the real world for days, forgetting that you actually have a life!
