An SOS has been sent to the governor of Lagos State, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode. According to reports, there is an abandoned project in Olojo street, Off Gbeleyi Avenue, Alakuko, Off Lagos Abeokuta Expressway. It was reported that the contractors of this project left the work half way and they refused to show up despite series of letters to the local government chairman, and also to the relevant authorities.

According to the residents in this area, the abandoned road project has ruined businesses and cut the street off from the community

A resident has decided to spearhead the campaign for urgent help from the government of Lagos and also demand the contractor back to finish the work they have started.

These are some of the pictures of the road leading from Olojo Street in Alakuko.

Me and my sister discussed this just this afternoon. Too many abandoned road projects has made a lot of roads very unmotorable with terrible traffic jams and some areas inaccessible. Even worse is that several houses were demolished for these projects that seem to have been abandoned as soon as Ambode lost the primaries. Are we going to wait for the next governor to get sworn in before work continues? Not fair at all.

With potholes everywhere and heaps of refuse adorning major streets, I wonder why they are referring to Lagos as a mega city. Anambra state is far better than Lagos

The decay of infrastructure nationwide over the last 35 years has been too much. While population has nearly doubled since then too. Pressure on the already poor infrastructure is excessive.

Even if govt officials were not corrupt, they would fix more but still not enough. Nigeria needs around 400 billion dollars special infrastructure fund to make a dent. If not stolen as usual o. With serious population control in tandem.

You cant even compare Anambra to Lagos

Anambra has more completed projects (98%) than lagos (27%).
