It's not what fear of election can do.
It was the right thing to do in as much as its coming now.
The onus now is that if and if Atiku's PDP win the election, will they be able to keep to the agreement or are we going to hear that there will be downsizing of the public sector?
Because with PDP its no longer news that they believe that the public sector is over bloated whereas its the so called politicians whose bellies are.

This is not cos of election in any kind its the right of the workers that within a certain space of time there will an increment in their minimum wage. But thanks it is coming from the APC government.

Increament = 12/18 * 100 = 66.67%

For 118k, 118*66.67/100 = 78.67
New salary 118+78.67 = 196.67k
