embarassed Africans and useless arguments that contribute nothing to humanity and human development, I wonder if it is as a result of melanin, heavy carb diet, donkey sized genetals or the hot sun. The next leader of common wealth states (which controls at least 1,/3 of world trade) visited us, yet our concern is about who visited who and royal logistics rather than find a trade arrangement to lift us out of unemployment and extreme poverty

This is exactly the point, and it shows the difference in mindset between the two countries!
Doesn't it strike you as odd that Nigeria has hundreds of traditional rulers all jockeying for front-row recognition, while Ghana on the other hand has just one prominent respected traditional ruler?

Or are you guys arguing that when Africa was partitioned during the Berlin conference of 1884-85, that the area now called Ghana was one homogeneous ethnic/cultural entity while the area now known as Nigeria was made of distinct and disparate ethnic groups thus accounting for the many traditional rulers that went to meet with Prince Charles in Abuja, whereas in Ghana only one prominent monarch met with him?

If anything this speaks to the fact that Ghanaians are matured and more of a united nation than Nigeria could ever hope to be!

In Nigeria (more so in the south), every little hamlet wan form autonomous community or ethnic nationality out of pure greed and envy! Also, their materialistic arsses have sussed out that they can use this chieftaincy and kingship to corner some funds from the state and federal gov'ts when political parties and candidates are looking for innovative ways to bribe the electorate for their votes!
In Ghana, all the minorities submit to the majority tribe which is the Ashanti, in S.A the zhulus, but in Nigeria, certain minorities from the south will never agree to the majority, instead they expect to be perceived as majority? Omo na steady fight ooooo

Either that, or it could be that the ones that blend together have seen a good reason to and see a commonality of values, tradition and history worth coming together for! Not to mention the fact they don't suffer malevolent external forces using divide-and-rule tactics to make them antagonise and be suspicious of one another!

Just saying! wink

The population of Lagos alone is bigger than that of Ghana. It is understandable why there are more traditional rulers in Nigeria. Also, It is not practical that prince Charles would visit all the traditional rulers in their various domains. The queen of England doesn't even sit on her throne while receiving foreign dignitaries, what is the show of power for?
The humiliation meted to the Ghanaian king when the British first came is probably why they need to prop up their current king.

In Nigeria, we have some many important traditional rulers unlike Ghana where the Ashanti empire represents supremacy. So Prince Charles clearly wouldn't be able to visit each one in their Royal Palace like he did in Ghana..... Xaos said it all
Did you see Alaafin of Oyo, Olubadan or the Alake of Egba Land there ? They ain't got time for shit

The slavery mentality of some Nigerians is exemplified by President Buhari. His hospital, vacation, children's schools, looted assets, and so on, are in the UK.

If care is not taken, his fura de nunu, gworo, etc are also imported from the UK.

Unfortunately their sitting positions show seniority.
Prince Charles first
Sultan of Sokoto, Obi of Onitsha and Ooni of Ife...close Behind
Then Emir of Kano and Co Next

No opinions
Re: Prince Charles In Ghana Vs In Nigeria With Traditional Rulers (Pictures) by Nobody: 7:40pm On Nov 08, 2018
The fact that Nigeria is by far bigger than Ghana in size and even more bigger in population consequently having far more kings answers much of the question. That the prince visited the palace doesn't mean that the Akan has more respect or influence than any of the Nigerian kings in that meeting. Let's stop being petty

the new Oba of Benin has made the Bini monarchy lose value.. this is the third time he is leaving his palace to run to Abuja... His ancestors will be turning in their graves.

IMO all these anachronistic garbage should be swept away - countries like US, Russia, Canada, etc., manage to survive without these parasites
