Get it right, in Ghana the king of Ashanti is the overall king. All other kings are under him. The Ashanti language is local official language in Ghana besides English language.
this is not true. The king of Ashanti is not the overall king, as you claim. You are a liar, Ashanti is not the official language besides English.

Its good to have serious meaningful national dicuss and I wont waste such opportunity with insults... Although China man doesn't joke with their money and they have started taking over strategic colleteral in Jamaica and Zambia, Nigeria may not suffer such faith if we quickly introduce electronic toll system on the roads and bridges funded with loan

Hmnn! Only if we had leaders with foresight. David Ben-Gurion(Israeli First President) said:"It's not enough to be up to date, you have to be up to tomorrow." When are we gonna have leaders who think ahead and have the interest of their people at heart? God help us cry cry

The population of Lagos alone is bigger than that of Ghana. It is understandable why there are more traditional rulers in Nigeria. Also, It is not practical that prince Charles would visit all the traditional rulers in their various domains. The queen of England doesn't even sit on her throne while receiving foreign dignitaries, what is the show of power for?
The humiliation meted to the Ghanaian king when the British first came is probably why they need to prop up their current king.

The only thinking in my head right now is that these traditional rulers were tricked into this arrangement. Otherwise it's purely and truly humiliating. And indefensibly so. What comedy!
Re: Prince Charles In Ghana Vs In Nigeria With Traditional Rulers (Pictures) by Litmus: 11:25pm On Nov 08
Lol, Nigeria is rich with culture and our traditional leaders for the most part can stage opulence unmatched by any culture in Africa. My thoughts, when I saw the photo of out traditional leaders siting In that spars setting in Abuja, was that this is an example of what the Nigeria people penchant for over criticism leads. It struck me that administrators up there in Abuja were
at sixes and sevens, weary of putting on a regal display of Nigeria's monarchs lest you lot attack them on social media for wasting money while people starv. You people should try and remember your reactions online when Dangote put on that lavish display in which Bill Gates was guest.Morale of story, Nigerians should learn to be measured in your criticism for you are driving the confidence out of Nigeria.

The queen recognizes non of them at all.
Our traditional rulers are all slaves to the British throne.

That's what I'd have typed if I had no sense but I do.

In Nigeria, we have some many important traditional rulers unlike Ghana where the Ashanti empire represents supremacy. So Prince Charles clearly wouldn't be able to visit each one in their Royal Palace like he did in Ghana.

I'm afraid i'll have to agree with you!

Traditional rulership in Nigeria has been reduced to nothing but a joke and a parody of what it used to be!

Imagine so called first-class traditional rulers rushing to Abuja for a photo-op with the heir to the English throne! Now if it had been the Queen herself, i would have understood. But Prince Charles!?

Charles is more or less the defacto king of England now, as heir to the throne, given their queen's age and limited travel etc.

Also, his advanced age makes him worthy of respect even by kings, and so it isn't really a big deal. He's virtually a king without the actual title.

The fact that Nigeria is by far bigger than Ghana in size and even more bigger in population consequently having far more kings answers much of the question. That the prince visited the palace doesn't mean that the Akan has more respect or influence than any of the Nigerian kings in that meeting. Let's stop being petty

Good talk. Childish and petty.

When did i say UK needs to save your life from poverty of mind you're battling? For all I care the prince is the head of common wealth community of sovereignty.... If you are any intelligent (which I doubt) you would know list of raw materials and skilled man power Nigeria can have trade advantage with. Or you think 2.3m barrel per day would continue feeding 200m people?

You actually expect the UK not to take advantage of Nigeria? You expect a fair deal?

The prince is just a ceremonial head. The UK is not a monarchy.

This is what I've been saying. We can't be claiming monarchy under a presidential system. What it simply implies is that all the monarchs in Nigeria are UNDER the president. Despite all the big mouth boasting. Since they all use the presidents currency, Naira, they do not have their own Army, they don't have their borders or border poliCe. Then it is all trivial.
Prince Charles just treated them like small boys who really have nothing to offer except traditional cloth.

Be dreaming there. If the UK is not a monarchy, why is the Queens head depicted on Every single currency denomination in the country?
1p, 5p, 10p, 20p, 50p, £1, £5, £10, £20, £50 ?
it is a sophisticated monarchy, where the Queen/King cowardly run away from the Moral issues of running the nation and hand over those daily tasks to the Prime Minister. Every prime Minister goes to kneel down before the Queen before assumption of office to prove loyaltY. Queen Elizabeth has received them all since Winston Churhill to Teresa May. The entire UK cannot function without the Monarchy.

In the ideal sense, if we really wanted Nigeria to be a country, it is these Monarchs who should constitute the Senate. Each one representing his region and debating laws that will benefit them. Each one bringing to the table, whatever resources their regions can provide.
But they have no resources. They sit idle their palaces, not being part of Nigeria. Not providing jobs for their youth. Not exploring and harnessing the resources in their regions. How then is the nation supposed to respect them? The nation owns all the resources and is the highest employer of labour, and provider of amenities to people.

No. Modern Monarchs are more curious and more adventurous. They want to see and feel The Prince react in their midst. Nigerian Sample is more educative, modern and more inclusive.
