This post only makes sense, if its a Ghanian posting it (to spite Nigerians), otherwise, if you are a Nigerian this makes no sense - you expect Prince Charles to go to all the 5 palaces, in the different parts of Nigeria, and to sit on the seats reserved for visitors...

Typical ignorant, unintelligent, self loathing and low self esteem thread.

Must you losers always compare and live your pathetic existence according to other people?

I don't ecen get he silly comparisons with different events, different settings and visitation with one individual and multiple individuals in one single location instead of traveling to every state, and city to visit each traditional ruler in Nigeria.

Igbos are truly ignorant and unintelligent.

what's this one saying?

in the good old days

a king does not leave his kingdom to embark on this kind of journey

shows you how monarch is useless in Nigeria and why it must be abolished

The Benin monarch is not one of those you are referring to because if you know how deep and painful the issue of stolen artworks is to the Binis, you will then understand.

We all know if given the opportunity, Prince Charles will NEVER come to Benin City to meet with the Oba since he knows he is a direct descendant of the thieves who came to Benin in 1887 to steal and plunder.

If I was the King of Nigeria or even Africa, I will leave my palace to meet with the thief, who is a major power in the world and plead with him to return my goods, since I know I cannot fight him. Can Nigeria military fight the UK?

So, please I see no reason why you would group him with other Obas.

Looking at the sitting arrangement, it is possible the Buhari Admin must have requested or directed that the Oba's chair be far from Prince Charles' because they fear any embarrassment, so whoever made the sitting arrangement put his chair far behind.

Please note that when it comes to the issue of stolen Artworks, it is like catting an arm of the Benin Kingdom, which will never heal until they are brought back.

I believe you should join in the campaign to bring back the Artworks and make your voice heard. When Nigerian presidents go to London, have you ever heard any one of them talk about the stolen Artworks? They left it for the Benins alone to do the wailing!

Get it right, in Ghana the king of Ashanti is the overall king. All other kings are under him. The Ashanti language is local official language in Ghana besides English language.

This is exactly the point, and it shows the difference in mindset between the two countries!
Doesn't it strike you as odd that Nigeria has hundreds of traditional rulers all jockeying for front-row recognition, while Ghana on the other hand has just one prominent respected traditional ruler?

Or are you guys arguing that when Africa was partitioned during the Berlin conference of 1884-85, that the area now called Ghana was one homogeneous ethnic/cultural entity while the area now known as Nigeria was made of distinct and disparate ethnic groups thus accounting for the many traditional rulers that went to meet with Prince Charles in Abuja, whereas in Ghana only one prominent monarch met with him?

If anything this speaks to the fact that Ghanaians are matured and more of a united nation than Nigeria could ever hope to be!

In Nigeria (more so in the south), every little hamlet wan form autonomous community or ethnic nationality out of pure greed and envy! Also, their materialistic arsses have sussed out that they can use this chieftaincy and kingship to corner some funds from the state and federal gov'ts when political parties and candidates are looking for innovative ways to bribe the electorate for their votes!

The Ashanti empire was the only empire existing in present day Ghana as to the time the British conquered Ghana. Unlike in Nigeria.

Ghana is a much smaller nation compared to Nigeria.

In one word 'class'

We keep degrading ourselves at every given opportunity

Whenever election is approaching you see our political aspirant paying visits to our traditional rulers in their palaces they even bow down while the leader is sitted on the throne...why cant they just do same to every other man..paying lip service.whatever is good for the geese should also apply to the gander simple.

The Ooni Orisa watered down the traditional Institution.... in Nigeria, from bowing down to Saraki, acting like a clown inside the plane from Lagos to London, taking Selfies with anyone and everyone inside the plane, and also collecting offering in a beat down naija church in London.
That was why the Oba of Lagos snubbed him in public, and rejected his gesture for a hand shake

U think Briticos.... don't read our blogs and newspapers, watch our tv? Hmmmm, that's why Prince Charles treated them like subjects!
