The Nigerian Railway Corporation has officially announced the commencement of its free train ride service along the completed Itakpe - Warri line.

This service will run free of charge up till December 2018.

This is the third Standard Gauge rail line completed by this administration after the Abuja - Kaduna rail and Abuja Metro. While the Lagos-Ibadan rail will be completed in the next few months.

Let Nigerians know that they can now enjoy this service.

Continuity and maintenance is key. That is the main thing. Kudos all the same..

please no need for political fight, I don't want to read somebody started it because what matter most is to see it completed. either started by Buhari administration or not what am much concerned is that they truly completed the project and it's beneficial to Nigerian.

Is this for real? The last time I took a train ride from Meiduguri to Aba, was like 30+ years ago ~ I was still a kid then. That route is no more. What sort of leaders we had this past years and where the whole revenue generated same period went to is still a mystery.

This Buhari might be an illiterate, but in terms of project execution and delivery Nigeria has never had it better.

If his dream of connecting every region through rail transportation is achieved, it would do wonders for the economy; a tomato trader/farmer conveying his goods from Kano to Lagos would only spend 5,000 naira plus on transport instead of the usual 15,000 by road - which ultimately leads to an increase in profit, a decrease in price of locally made goods and a substantial decrease in cost of living.

In a country where industrialization is needed, it is a pity that we are so far behind in basic social infrastructures e.g rail transport, good roads, stable electricity e.t.c . The presence of these things is sacrosanct as industries cannot survive without them.

Although, the government is the biggest employers of labour in most countries, it is not the responsibility of the government to provide jobs. Their responsibility is to provide a conducive environment for business to thrive by investing massively in infrastructure. The presence of these social infrastructures will attract foreign investors who, in turn will employ the citizens of the country.
