A lady who happens to be a friend of my neighbour living in the Ajah area of Lagos yesterday fell a victim unsuspecting scammers she met on Facebook. I'm sharing this so that other innocent people would not fall for such a cheap scam.

The lady in question met with another lady on Facebook, who claims to reside in Ikeja, became friends, chat together and in the course of time exchanged phone numbers. Yesterday, the Facebook friend called her that she will pay her a visit her house.
Since they have not met physically, she asked her to wait at popular drop point(bus stop), then give her a call, she will pickup her there.

In the afternoon around 2.30pm she called that she has arrived from Ikeja, she is at the bus stop. My neighbour's friend went to pick her at the bus stop, calling her to know where she was precisely and the color of her dress. She replied accordingly, but when she got there, she met a man in military uniform who who then asked her if she was the one that came to pick the lady from Ikeja? She said yes. The 'military' man then told her that she is in trouble, that her friend, the lady in question was arrested with intimacy gadgets on her way to Ajah, and she claimed that the lady she came to visit is the owner. He claimed he was sent to pick her up. It sure sounds funny but by the time the fake military man threatened her, she became afraid because of her naivety. Started begging and before you could say Jack Robinson, he slammed her with money to bail herself. He then took her to a hotel nearby, paid for a room, threatened her to UnCloth, which she stupidly did and took nude pictures of her.

He had threatened her such that she started calling her friends and people she knew to send her money. The imposter took her phone worth 120k from her, all the cash she had and even escorted her to an ATM point to clear her account.

All this happened with a short time and she was disposed of her cash, phone and pride which is her privacy. Things are really happening everyday and people refuse to learn.

It was when the 'military' man eloped, that she came to her senses. Up till this moment, she is still crying. See what Facebook has done to her. Mods pls push this to front page so that people out there will take lessons from it, not to run after people the meet on Facebook.
