Both the governor and the deputy's loyalty were to be to the party first. You don't follow blindly. Thank God Tambuwal didn't get to emerge as PDP Presidential candidate not to talk of the President. Else, he would have plunged Nigeria into deep crises with his short-sighted decisions.

That's not how it is though. Ahmed Aliyu was Wammakko (the immediate past governor)'s choice of successor back in 2014 but he was prevailed upon by party leaders to give Tambuwal the ticket (as part of the conditions for Tambuwal's defection from PDP to APC then). He (Wammakko) then gave Aliyubthe deputy ticket and now that Tambuwal has left the party, Wammakko is supporting Aliyu who was always his first choice.

Guy, you know nothing about Sokoto's politics... I am telling you Tambuwal will find it difficult to win back his seat cuz even in 2015 it wasn't his popularity (as of 2014 he has no influence in Sokoto's politics) that won him the seat but rather the influence of Gov. Wamakko and the Sai Baba effect
