A supporter of the son-in-law to the Imo State Governor, Uche Nwosu, was shot yesterday during a public event in Imo state.

It was gathered that the female supporter identified as Mrs. Gloria Opara, escaped death after after being hit in the hand by a stray bullet (in a case of accidental discharge), when she joined other supporters to march to the Ugwumba campaign secretariat located along Okigwe road, after Uche Nwosu addressed them at Freedom Square Warehouse roundabout, Owerri.

According to Iheanyi Daniel Enwerem, the incident occurred when the gun belonging to one of the security personnel on duty was alleged to have been mistakenly removed from safety which triggered to hit the victim, Mrs. Opara.

The victim Mrs. Opara, is said to be the wife of one Mr. Ifeanyi Opara from Ohii community in Owerri west Local Government Area of the State, was rushed to the government house clinic for treatment. .
