‘Don’t Play Bad Politics’ — Okorocha Warns Ndigbo Over Atiku’s Endorsement by kahal29: 9:39pm On Nov 15, 2018
Rochas Okorocha, governor of Imo state, has asked Igbo leaders to toe the path of wisdom before adopting a candidate for the 2019 presidential election.

In a statement on Thursday, the governor advised the leaders to put aside the bad politics they played in the past which has kept the zone in political wilderness.

Okorocha said this 24 hours after Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), met with Ben Nwabueze, a senior advocate of Nigeria (SAN), with some south-east leaders in Enugu.

The leaders were said to have adopted Atiku, while Nwabueze said he would not die until the PDP candidate becomes president.

In a statement issued by Sam Onwemeodo, his chief press secretary, Okorocha advised the stakeholders to tread with caution.

“On the adoption of a presidential candidate by Igbo leaders and their playing partisan politics, my advice is that Igbo leaders should toe the path of wisdom and should not come again adopting a candidate,” the statement read.

“Mine is an advice that the Igbos should be careful not to play the same type of very bad politics we played in the past which most of the times, kept us in political wilderness. As a people, we must be wise now and never foreclose the possibility of any presidential candidate becoming the president tomorrow.”

The All Progressives Congress (APC) had said the endorsement of Atiku by some south-east leaders is an affront to Igbo people who were victims of PDP’s “misrule”.

Rochas now considers himself a true Igbo leader because he shook hands with Obama grin. Mr.Iberiberisms opinion might count in Birom land where his father is from, but definitely not in Igbo land. Shege Okorohausa!

Rochas is still having a hang over from his iberiberism gone awry as far as installing his godson-Uche Nwosu is concerned.

What we saw in 1983-84 is what we're still seeing in 2015-2019.So no leader(baba soope) dictates for us here in alaigbo even if they endorse; as we follow our conscience. You fuckup we tidy it for you

It's risky but its worth taking besides even if Ndigbo support buhari, in 2023, buhari will definitely hand over to the southwest so there's nothing to loose buy supporting Atiku

Igbos said they would only vote any candidate that will restructure this country, Buhari has made it clear that he is not a fan of restructuring

Atiku has been advocating for restructuring for a long while and has shown he will do so

is it not clear to all where igbo votes will go? how is it bad politics to endorse who agress to your demands against the person that has said no.

Even without the adoption, it's clear that Atiku will earn a good chunk of the Presidential votes in the Southeast. Buhari nauseates an average Ibo.

Shut up my friend.... what has Okorocha gained from asslicking Buhari and APC leaders?

It's very obvious that with or without the SE support, Buhari will hand over to North or South West. So what do u expect SE to do?

They should support Atiku who gave them VP or Buhari who called them 5% and sent soldiers to kill their youths? Use your sense bros
