This nation faced recession under PDP in 2008 and survived.
Tell me how we will end up like Venezuela again.
The reserves that was used to survive was exhausted by Jonathan, which was why 2015 recession was brutal. Now that Buhari has built it back up, hope we don't have to use it indiscriminately.

We've grown our reserves yet our economy is still hazy...
That's growth in the shadows.

Growing reserves doesn't necessarily translate to improved macro or micro economic conditions. Stop being an illiterate or don't argue on a subject you know nothing about

A failed promise. A bleak promise. A sellout promise and counterproductive political manifesto. Now i know Atiku is even worst than Bubu. Foreign shit indeed!
Re: Atiku: I Will Risk Inflation To Win Huge Foreign Investments by feddis(op): 1:27pm On Nov 16, 2018
Talking about illiteracy, you sing the growth of our reserves like GEJ actually literally left them empty.
Are you not simply an illiterate for believing such?
If the our reserves was really empty, how come Buhari came and Nigeria still had such great borrowing power that has given him the ability to borrow about N13trn naira in 3 years.

brainwashed atiku fulani slaves are already rejoicing over the jargons he just said.
..

the first thing buhari did when he came was float naira/dollar which made dollar went as high as 500 and inflation reached all time high... the same brainwashed mor0ns wailed about how buhari is killing them with hunger.

now these same mor0ns are praising atiku for planning to implement the same thing... now they wonder why no one takes them seriously.

i'm guessing atiku wants to double all his laundered dollars and the ones in his soak away by doubling or trippling exchange rate.. That thief must never be allowed anywhere near aso rock. He will risk the lives of nigerians for selfish gains.
You don't know what you are talking about. Buhsri never floated the naira. In fact , he said publicly that he is under pressure to float but he will not budge. It the restrictions buhari placeed on the dollars that shoot up the price. We are getting the price we are getting now because osibango took advantage of bubu's absence to relaxed some of the restrictions. It scarcity that drove up dollar price. Floating means allowing market force to decides is the best way to go in an open economic we pretend to practice as long as every body is allowed the official pricing

You are the one with the short memory. Buhari was adamant about distribution. He trial and error which led to multiple exchange rate. Buhari himself stated he is under pressure to float the Naira.

How much could we use to defend the economy on the $27 billion he left behind before we entered Venezuelan territory?

Stop digging your hole deeper. You don't know much

If my continual talk about my support for PDP and Atiku makes me an E-rat then you're only a pathetic online foolish Agbero.
Am sure if you ever in your dream get to contest for any political office you will be scandalous and fraudulent like your boss Buhari.

The hotmoney is usually from portfolio investments. It is actually a vote of confident in your economy.

Don't make a mountain out of a molehill. Its not an issue that happens, all the time.

When Soludo was CBN governor,he made sure that any portfolio investment must stay a year before it can be taken out. This was to prevent the destabiling effect of panicky foreigners taking their investments out too quickly.
Hahahaha.... Experience and research has shown that you cannot stop such capital from moving when it chooses to...

As per direct investment.... Who says once you float then there will be massive FDI inflow.... It doesn't work that way there other factors involved such as the macro, business & political environment, how strong and effective are country's institutions etc

Quite right.

The truth is that foreign investment is still very beneficial. Saying foreign investment is unwelcome become of the threat of hotmoney is tantamount to throwing the baby out with the bathwater

Is it a bad thing to have alot of naira in circulation?
yes, it is just simple economics if something is in abundance it looses it's value, just read about Zimbabwe's failed economy

It's so unfortunate that almost all of you supporters of Buhari's APC are fanatics and extremists.
There's no fact that can convince you otherwise.
May Go d help and deliver you all from such enchantment.

And who demands our naira ?

The currency, naira, as we have it is valued according to our foreign exchange earnings

We earn foreign exchange from crude oil sales

Do the math
I kept back from answering you because your question perplexed me! Who demands Naira?

There is demand for the Naira from overseas Why don't you think it exists

Also the official rate does not fully reflect the true value as it is priced at 305 while that on the openly traded market is 365

Lamido Sanusi has been relentless in condemning the massive spread between the 2 rates ever since Buhari assumed office and which simply creates a round trippers paradise

As long as that disparity exist you tell foreign investors that economic illiterates are in charge and they'll keep their much needed dollars out!

What do you mean?

It was massive investment by foreign investors was what transformed China, starting with investments from Hong Kong with barely 0.5% of China's population.

The highest paying companies in Nigeria are most multinationals.

Singapore was probably as poor as Nigeria in 1965 but now has per capita income higher than Britain, their colonial masters, all thanks to foreign investors
Foreign investors and most importantly innovation.

Without innovation and massive brainwork , they would have stayed stuck in the middle income trap like Malaysia

Import substitution policies with the primary aim to boost local industries and save foreign exchange has failed. Why continue with such ineffectual policies?
Always been failing since 1960.

economic experts should comment not political fanatics.
This is very stupid. Only idiotic young people would vote for this man. Floating the Naira?. USD will become N600.
The people who will be dislocated by this will be Atiku suporters themselves. They are mostly middle class, educated within Nigeria to university level and actually very ignorant about life.

Buhari supporters are mostly semi urban, urban poor and rural. They will survive. Floating the Naira will make all our assets cheap for foreign investors to pick up. Refineries will be sold for 1/10 of the their value.
Inflation will soar and I hope it wipes out the value of the Naira completely so the idiots who want their lives destroyed by this corrupt agent of foreign interests will experience what it means to almost watch your kids starve to death.

All these anti christ-like sound bites like "enrich my friends", "sell NNPC" and now "i will risk inflation" are being done deliberately. You won't be able to complain when the effects hits you and your family. They will even tell you - " you hated Buhari, that's why you voted for us, pls wait for another 16 years ".

See all the complex analysis Atiku is making, showing someone with a knowledge of economics.

The only thing Buhari knows and thinks is corruption this, corruption that..

Oya fight the corruption na, He's telling us that a consensus corrupt individual is responsible.

Oga Buhari is done.. he should go and rest, let capable hands handle the country.

u are just a political fanatics, what happens to the country if hes plan(risk) does not work then he throws the whole country into a big trouble
