In Canada where I live, public donation to political campaigns are limited to a certain amount (somewhere around $1,000 per individual, I think). Going above this amount is assumed to go against public interest in any campaign. So I ask again, who is this man?

I checked him online and saw nothing tangible to justify the amount involved as a free-will donation. Going by what he claim to be, “I am a Kwaran, a Technocrat, Pharmacist by profession, a businessman, a family man, a good husband & a politician.” One man suddenly became everything to justify a political driven donation?

I mean I have nothing against donating to a government he supports. But if we do not worry about one single individual donating such amount to support a political course then we obviously ain't ready to liberate our country yet. A man who gives up this much must have something to reap from our collective treasury.

Yes, you're not far from the truth, Federal election laws allow an individual to donate $2,700, but after the emergence of Super PACs that followed recent court cases, political donors are nearly free to give as they choose, with their decisions guided mainly by how they want to direct their money...they can donate anything from $25-$10,000,000.
