WHAT IS DONE IS UPON CLOSURE OF ANY ACCT. A DRAFT OF THE AMOUNT LEFT IN THE ACCT IS RAISED IFO OF THE CUSTOMER....

BUT I KNOW MOST BANKS DO NIT LIKE THE IDEA OF CLOSING AN ACCT.. BUT ACCOUNTS CAN BE CLOSED ON REQUEST BY THE CUSTOMER

THIS IS THE SIMPLE CASE,LET THE FRAUD DESK OF THE BANK CONDUCT AN INVESTIGATION ON THE CLAIM.THE CUSTOMER SHOULD ALSO LODGE A COMPLAIN WITH CBN AND CPC

UBA has security flaws. I am a victim also. I lost some money while using my UBA ATM on a Zenith Bank ATM. I complained severally even contacted them on twitter and all they could tell me is that Zenith Bank confirmed that the transaction was successful. That's how I lost 10k of my hard earned money. According to them, probably, the money came out after I left and someone picked it up. I asked about their cctv and they all fell silent. The thing really hit me hard cos I needed money at that time but I felt I should forget it. If UBA or any of my other banks tries it again with me, I will deal with them with all the arsenal I can muster..

are you being serious?. in this world of technology you think you can't be undone. The truth is either the ATM was not picked by the right set of persons who will teach you a lesson or there was no money in your account.

I lost my ATM sometime ago, went to UBA to make report for blocking the lost ATM card. New card was issued to me. Few days later I received the missing card from a guy that found it on the road. I tried using the card on nearby machine, to my surprise the alleged blocked card was still active and withdrawing cash. In short the old and new cards were both active. UBA is a stupid bank and Nigerians should beware of their lacklustre system

He should have also gone to the network office to block the sim, in that way they won't have transferred his money, or he would have quickly done welcome back.

There is more to this story. Did he fill an account closure form and the bank didn't close his account. If he did not then there is no case. My advice to all, in case your fone get stolen or missing, put a call through to the banks service centre or visit any branch of your bank and demand that you restrict your account. Account closure cannot be done with word of mouth.

I was telling a friend about how unreliable this bank is this evening and reading this has only helped to confirm my opinion.

A fellow staff money was withdrawn due to negligence on her own part and I advised her to visit the branch to request the account be blocked. According to her the CSO claimed the necesary action has been taken to block the fraudsters from accessing the accounts and that the customer should proceed to make deposit into the account.

She did as advised and deposited 5k and immediately the account was again debited. This time I took it upon myself to ensure the money was returned by the bank but after all my effort I was told nothing can be done.

The account can be placed on hold, making it impossible for any transaction to go on in the account.

UBA staff are compromised. Stealing customers money and working with hackers is their "modus operadus " The worst bank in Nigeria.

The man should petition CBN and he'll get his money back.

The best thing the man would have done is to call his network providers and have his line blocked, before going to the bank? Later he can do a welcome back.
