socialmediaman:
Your problem with Atiku is that he didn’t select a running mate from SW. this is understandable but think about it from the political perspective.

SW will not produce the winning votes for Atiku in this election even if he picked a VP from the region, because they believe Buhari will hand over power to the region in 2023 which I highly doubt will happen.

Nevertheless, Atiku seems to have made a strategic decision for his VP in order to secure the SE and SS and solidify those regions as PDP base, then go head on with Buhari for NE and NC votes

That’s a reasonable calculation, this has nothing to do with neglecting the SW region

We both know also that Atiku needs persons like OBJ in the SW so the region will not be left out
Noooo, you have got it wrong. This has nothing to do with Atiku or his VP choice. It's all about who Atiku is contesting against.

We will survive. It has never been this bad in all my adult life and I cannot believe I campaigned for Buhari in 2015.

We have fallen for the trap and have no choice but to leave with the consequences of our decisions.

I only meant your thinking is not quite far from the truth. But I haven't lost faith in God for the possibility of providing a balanced solution or alternative to what we're faced with today... February might be close enough, but God works in mysterious ways u know.
Remember a gubernatorial candidate once died on the day of an election he was leading in before the result was officially announced. This isn't a death wish for PMB, but a reminder of how possible possibilities can be.

Exactly. At this juncture, it's only God that can save Nigerians. Let's just forget about ousting Buhari through the polls.

Buhari is no jonathan to relinquish power without a fight.

Buhari does not have the power to refuse to hand over if he loses election... even his own people will turn against him if he does that. The only authority he has is the presidency and he loses that once he loses election, no permanent loyalty in politics

Honestly resurgent you have spoken well. But still vote and encourage those you can to vote while we pray for devine intervention.

In my entire Christian life, I have never joined people to pray for death or misfortune of an enemy but I have found myself praying for the death of buhari, not because I hate him but because I believe he is a stumbling block to the well being of many in this country and the political reasoning of most Nigerians is beclouded by many things thereby making right judgement very difficult and voting buhari out very difficult.

I am an Igbo man, and I know the demise of buhari would make it impossible for Igbo's to come close to the presidency in at least 12 years but there is nothing worth a continued buhari presidency, not even my father taking over from him in 2023.

After yesterday's results I have almost given up, but let's not give up. Let's continue to speak and pray hard. God can still intervene, even with buhari remaining alive, God can unseat him but our efforts are needed.

Shalom!

I understand where you are coming from so I don't blame you. And when I say I stand with Buhari, it doesn't mean I would vote for him or influence anybody to vote for him. Those who will vote for Buhari know themselves and all these noise on social media is just a waste.

This message is specifically for die hard igbos like you who might want to commit suicide when Buhari is announced winner of the elections. I am actually doing you a favor.

If you like hear, if you like continue banking on Atiku to unseat Buhari. You go tell me whether Buhari resemble Jonathan.

God bless you. You are one of the few people who understand what I am saying. To me, Buhari is one of the most dangerous men in the world and I am saying it unequivocally. The man inspires many people of the other faith to commit acts of terror and push for more islamization of the Republic. The only thing most christians can do is to pray and defend themselves for the next four years. And I urge those who can pray to continue praying. As for me, I am resigned to fate and ready for the worst.

Take care brother.

Since we cannot do anything about it, is it not better to pray and brace ourselves?

That's why I did this thread to draw back eternal optimists to reality. This is Naija and not America where the institutions of state owe their allegiance to the construction. Nigeria is a backwater, African hell hole.

Reality check!

Yes,i get now. But it doesn't mean we attribute light, progress or enlightenment to Buhari ooo. Mystro was only trying to say I have now seen buhari for who he is, whereas I have always held the views expressed here about Buhari all along.

Oya, continue canvassing votes for Atiku. I have never stopped you from doing that and I never did this thread to undermine Atiku. This thread is only a dose of reality for those who are hoping against hope that they might one way or the other oust Buhari through the polls.
