I believe what you're trying to say is he can filter what his senses receive, consciously and subconsciously. I don't think his abilities are switch-capable.

They are. By default, he can hear and smell things like any other blind guy, but if/when enhanced, he can hear and smell things that are very far. He can enhance his auditory and olfactory sensors by concentrating on the source (his mentor, stick, taught him how to do this as a kid). He can also enhance his radar sensory similarly (not a default sensor like auditory and olfactory). When the receptors of these sensors are not cranked up, he's essentially an ordinary blind guy, so my point stands. He can switch them on and off, by enhancing and abating them at will.

Minus the highlighted, you're right.

so I downloaded the last kingdom season one episode one.. I haven't watched it yet I just previewed it. to be honest I don't like all this Vikings shit. I don't even like the characters they use to portray them.. please someone recommen a good village setting series please.. don't make me watch legend of the seeker again

Stop buying from roadside vendors. Go to a reputable DVD shop that sells movies. Those are the ones that sell quality movies and tv series.

I just watched season 1 to 4 recently and it's pretty Okay.

Even though I find most of the main characters problematic and annoying, particular two of the female leads.

In fact, I was thrilled when the head of someone was blasted at the top of her voice.

HaHa Its not just witch practices I think, more like Dealing with the Devil.

I've watched only 1 episode to see if I would like it. From that so far, maybe they have probably not got into the chilling stuff yet .

I'm just a sucker for brilliant acting performance and can't turndown a series which offer me just that. I'm also aware that Satan and witchcraft are common themes so I know what to expect

If you're not comfortable with anything that'll glorify those topic I'd advise you stay away ( Believe me, trust a highly acclaimed American TV show to portray such topics in a manner to conflict popular beliefs )

I'm surely going to watch it. Besides, Nigerian ritualists ( both in movies and real life ) should scare the shit out of anybody than any Chilling adventures of Sabrina on American Television
