No problem. A large corporation like the EFCC must have an offsite data bank

Employ people who knows the job :NO.. Employ trainable personel and train :NO.. Na to dey employ governor and senator relative.

Data center personnel are not employed by organizations that have large data centers for nothing.

Large and important data centers are designed to keep fire from outside out, and to fight fire if the fire emanates from inside,(smoke detectors, vesda, FM200,hand held and wheel push fire extinguishers, etc)

a) It's either the data center is not important enough to them (b)someone purposely sabotaged it(which can still be detected using ACU, and cctv)

I pick (a) bcs we have poor maintenance culture inclusive to the countries problem.. lipsrsealed

We have been patiently waiting for this fire all year....

and as usual it's d data collection centre that gets to go down in flames.

This ain't 1983...we long left the hdd option of saving documents. Clouds are now in existence for securing classified

Files and information....but all this one's no concern apc the safe heaven of criminals.

Cloud will have your data store in a central server not in ur location (correct me on this if am wrong)

But if you are dealing with security of a country I want to believe your data should be where you should have physical access to it. You have to be able to shutdown, reboot etc in certain extreme situations smiley

In as much as saving information ing he cloud is good, I doubt Nigeria is ripe for that. Is there any superb company in Nigeria to handle that ? It will be disastrous to use a foreign company for classified informations about a country.

10th world country.

Now that data centre is burnt, many classified docs wee also gone in smokes, and thus many cases or profiles are irretrievable. And the minds of the Nigerians who know how the country is can capture the rest of the story.

The world is in 21st century, here is just 16th.
The future of any organization, company or a nation which can't make the best of data is worse than being bleak.
Until data management vis-a-vis accountability has a top interest in the heart of those in power, the business will be as usual. Needless to say that the nation got here in the first place because here data can lie, from census, to polls, to financial figures, etc
