All these high commission staffs are so corrupt but what is behind their sacking still unclear as believing that they were not pay is the reason for their disengagement of services is unbelievable...

Magichand:
Over 50 Staff of the Nigerian High Commission London were dismissed and asked to accept a letter dated 22nd of November, 2018, Meanwhile, the Commission claims the dismissal took effect from 1st of January 2018. The staff of the commission has been working all year (2018) with months of no pay.

The letter of termination came due to a continual outcry from staff members of the commission demanding their salary arrears. In the letter signed by Helen Nzeako on behalf of the Nigerian High Commission UK, the termination of employment is as a result of the restructuring of the organization and due to budgetary constraints.

The staff members of the Commission have received this news in dismay and disappointment as most have served the Federal Government of Nigeria meritoriously. A source alleged that the exercise is a plot by the management to disengage every staff to so as to pave way for them to employ their friends & family members into these positions.

The letter of termination or disengagement instructed staff to reapply for the same job if they so wish.

As quoted by a displaced staff of the commission. However the aggrieved staff are calling on President Muhammadu Buhari, the Federal Government of Nigeria to look into the matter.

I think your post is borne out of mischief becuase you did not state things EXACTLY as they are, in the disengagement letters!

- Every organisation has the liberty to disengage workers if its workforce is overblaoted, but it must pay them their entitlements.
- The letter made note of "notional" disengagement by January 1st, 2018 and not summary disenagement - meaning they would be paid up to Novermber 2018, as part of their entitlement.
- You did not say anything about being paid their entitlement in your own post (mischeif).
- The letter also makes it clear that if they still feel they want ot be working for the embassy, they can re-apply but it would be on a contract basis. You did not also highlight that part (mischief).

Finally, this is the U.K and not Nigeria where "some of" the Labour leaders, Court officer, e.t.c all take bribe to pervert Justice.
These workers can take a class-action against their employers, if they feel cheated.

Stop all these sensationalisation and propaganda,......l know it is election season. undecided undecided

Who else has seen the flaw in the letter, if i was served the letter, will render it invalid, and not accept it. Hit like and share if you have seen the flaw in the date? 1st January, 2018 instead of 1st January, 2019.
Re: 50 Staff Dismissed By Nigerian High Commission In London by writeprof(m): 1:39pm On Nov 23, 2018
That means they may be up to 100 staff. These are redundant people given jobs by connection. These number of people are not needed in the first place. Do they run a factory in the office in Uk?

Nigerian embassies abroad are so messed up. Bribes. Unpaid bills. Dirty embassies. No maintenance. Salary backlogs.

If not for diplomatic immunity almost all of them will be in jail in developed countries

When VOA HAUSA service.staff tried the naija style they were all sacked including the guy who reported it cos he was not clean too

Each person would have seen different things!
Just state what you 'think" you have seen that renders it invalid and then others would weigh-in.
I can assure you that the letter is well covered.

Let us play different sides of the divide.
State the flaw and let me defend it (a kind of legal arguement just for academic sake).

Edit: that date was not a flaw.
Take note of the phrase "notionally".
It means the date is back-dated to Jan 2018 but emoluments will be paid till Dec 2018

Buhari is a disaster. Owing workers on a foreign mission

Maybe those 50 workers leaked the news that Buhari had died and replaced with Jubrin Al Sudan, hence the sack.

To renew 3years driver's license during GEJ era was 6k 5,now it's 11k 5.

It seems Buhari regime is far better than this Jubrin owngrin.

That's the High Commission's way of adding its own funds to the campaign of Buhari.

Their arrears will be dropped. Buhari won't save you guys, don't even bother calling him.

All MDAs have to drop money for his re-election.

Good luck in finding a better job. I've always said this, there's no joy serving your country, absolutely none! What's the essence of serving your country and you're hit with a dismissal abruptly?

Good for them.. Whenever Dumbuhari Jibrin El-sudan comes to the UK for medical treatment you buffoons organize yourselves as paid supporters to welcome the doofus, carrying placards with inscriptions "APC UK supports dumbuhari', 'baba welcome to UK'.

Useless things, your salary arrears will now be used to pay for dumbohari's campaign while yusuf buhari the broken-headed continue intimidate motorists with his 55 million naira power bike.

Senseless london-based zombies. grin
